Spaceman in one paragraph
Pragmatic Play launched Spaceman on 24 March 2022 as its first crash-style game, a social multiplayer title where every player in the room watches the same flight. A small astronaut blasts off, the curve gets steeper as he passes planets, and a win multiplier rises on screen. At a point set by the game's random number generator he comes to a stop. Cash out before that and the multiplier is applied to your bet; miss it and the stake is lost. Pragmatic lists the return to player at 95% and the maximum win at 5,000 times the bet.
The round, from bet to stop
- Stake. Before lift-off you choose your bet. Your casino sets the minimum and maximum.
- Optional automation. You can enter an auto-cashout value for the whole bet and a separate 50% auto-cashout value.
- Lift-off. The astronaut takes flight and the multiplier climbs.
- Three choices. Cash out everything, cash out half with the 50% option, or keep waiting.
- The stop. The flight ends at its pre-set point. Any part of the bet still in the air is lost.
Rounds are short and follow each other closely, which is fun but also the main reason budgets disappear. Decide how many rounds you will play before you open the game.
How the 50% cashout splits a ₦1,000 bet
The half cashout divides your bet at the moment you use it. One half is settled straight away at the current multiplier and paid to your balance. The other half stays in flight and is settled later by a normal cashout, or lost if the astronaut stops first.
Say you stake ₦1,000 and use the 50% cashout at 1.60x. Half the stake, ₦500, times 1.60 pays ₦800 immediately. The other ₦500 keeps flying:
- He stops at 2.50x before you act again. You keep the ₦800 already banked. ₦800 back on ₦1,000, so ₦200 down.
- You cash the rest at 4.00x. ₦500 times 4.00 pays ₦2,000. Total ₦2,800 back, a profit of ₦1,800.
- You hold out to 12.00x. The second half pays ₦6,000. Total ₦6,800, a profit of ₦5,800.
Notice the first case. Using the half cashout early does not guarantee a profit. At 1.60x the banked half returns ₦800, less than the full ₦1,000 stake, so you only finish ahead if the second half also pays. To guarantee at least your stake back from the first half alone, the 50% cashout has to be used at 2.00x or higher.
Three auto plans compared
Because both tools can run automatically, you can decide your whole plan before lift-off. Here are three plans on a ₦1,000 stake, with the result depending on where the astronaut stops.

Plan A is all or nothing at a modest target. Plan B softens the bad rounds between 1.50x and 3.00x but still loses everything below 1.50x. Plan C almost always returns something, yet ₦600 on ₦1,000 is still a loss; it only pays off when the flight passes 6.00x. None of the three is better on average. They carry the same 95% return and differ only in how the results are spread.
The 5,000x ceiling in naira
Pragmatic states a maximum win of 5,000 times the bet. That makes the top prize easy to calculate: ₦50 can return at most ₦250,000, ₦100 at most ₦500,000, and ₦1,000 at most ₦5,000,000. Casinos may also apply their own limits, shown in the rules panel of your version, and the lower of the two applies.
Keep the ceiling in perspective. A flight that long is extremely rare, and chasing it with a high auto target means many rounds in a row with nothing back. It is the reason the prize exists, not a plan.
What 95% RTP costs you
The game page lists Spaceman at 95% RTP. Over a very large number of rounds, about ₦95 comes back for every ₦100 wagered, and ₦5 is the house edge. Spribe lists 97% for its crash game, so the gap is worth knowing. If you wager ₦100,000 over a month, the expected cost is about ₦5,000 at 95% against about ₦3,000 at 97%, before variance does its work.
The RTP applies to all your cashout choices together. Early exits, half cashouts and long waits reshape how results arrive, not the average. Pragmatic does not publish a volatility rating, but your targets set it in practice: low targets bring frequent small returns, high ones bring long gaps.
Doubling after losses does not escape the edge either. From ₦200 at a 2.00x target, five losses cost ₦6,200 and the sixth stake must be ₦6,400 to end ₦200 ahead, all while every bet still carries the same 5% edge.
A steadier approach is to size stakes from a session budget. On ₦8,000, a flat ₦200 stake gives you 40 rounds of play before the money is gone even in a bad run, and at 95% the expected cost of those 40 rounds is about ₦400. Pair that with Plan B or Plan C from the table above and you will see money come back on a good share of flights, which makes the session last. What you should not do is raise the stake after a loss to win it back quickly. That is the same doubling logic in a milder form, and it meets the same 5% edge on every naira.
Playing on a Nigerian connection
A crash game is a real-time event, so a slow network or a sudden power cut can separate you from your cash-out button at the worst moment. The best protection Spaceman offers is its own automation. With auto-cashout and 50% auto-cashout values entered before lift-off, the game acts at those multipliers without waiting for your tap. Treat manual play as the exception, for when your connection is steady and you are fully focused.
It also helps to decide your data habits. A short session of 30 or 40 rounds with fixed auto values uses less attention and less time online than an open-ended evening of manual clicking, and it keeps spending predictable.
Social panels, fairness and the law
Spaceman borrows its atmosphere from live casino. Leaderboards show the biggest wins, live chat connects the players in the room, and detailed bet records let you review every round you played. The game page adds statistics on recent results. None of it predicts the next flight: each stop is set by the RNG, and Pragmatic describes the mechanics as provably fair.
Gambling law in Nigeria is set by the states. Since the Supreme Court's November 2024 judgment, the National Lottery Act applies only in the Federal Capital Territory, while states such as Lagos license and regulate gaming themselves.
