Spaceman in one paragraph
Spaceman came out of Pragmatic Play on 24 March 2022 as the studio's first step into crash games. It is built as a shared, multiplayer RNG title: everyone in the room watches the same astronaut lift off and drift past planets while a number in the centre of the screen keeps growing. At a point decided by the random number generator before the flight begins, he stops dead. If you collected before that moment, your stake is multiplied by the figure you collected at. If you did not, the stake is gone. The provider lists a 95% return to player and a top payout of 5,000 times the bet.
What makes it different from the plane games most Kenyans know is the 50% cashout. With one tap you take half of your position off the table and leave the other half flying, all inside a single bet.
A round from start to finish
- Choose the stake while the astronaut waits on the launch pad. Minimum and maximum amounts are set by the operator, so a KSh 10 or KSh 20 floor is possible on one platform and not on another.
- Fill in the auto boxes if you want the game to act for you: one figure for the full auto-cashout, another for the 50% auto-cashout.
- Lift-off. The multiplier begins at the bottom and climbs faster the longer he flies.
- Act or wait. Collect everything, collect half, or hold.
- The stop. The flight ends at the RNG's point and any stake still in the air is lost.
Each cycle is over in seconds and the next one loads almost immediately. On a lunch break or a long matatu ride that pace can swallow a budget before you notice, so decide how many rounds you will play before you open the game.
Full cashouts in shillings
A full cashout is simple arithmetic: stake times the multiplier on screen when you tap. The table shows a few common Kenyan stakes.
| Stake | Collected at | Paid back | Profit |
|---|---|---|---|
| KSh 50 | 1.30x | KSh 65 | KSh 15 |
| KSh 100 | 2.00x | KSh 200 | KSh 100 |
| KSh 200 | 2.75x | KSh 550 | KSh 350 |
| KSh 500 | 6.00x | KSh 3,000 | KSh 2,500 |
Low targets come in more often but leave a small profit. A KSh 50 bet collected at 1.30x earns only KSh 15, so one missed flight wipes out three such wins and more. High targets pay well when they land and miss far more often. Neither choice is better on average; they simply feel different.
The 50% cashout on a KSh 200 bet
Press the half button and the game splits your bet into two equal parts. One part is settled immediately at the current multiplier. The other part stays on the flight and is either collected later or lost when the astronaut stops.
Say you stake KSh 200 and use the half cashout at 1.80x. KSh 100 times 1.80 puts KSh 180 straight into your balance. KSh 100 is still riding. Three outcomes:
- He stops at 2.40x before you tap again. You keep only the KSh 180. On a KSh 200 bet that is a KSh 20 loss.
- You collect the rest at 3.50x. The second KSh 100 pays KSh 350. Together with KSh 180 you get KSh 530 back, a profit of KSh 330.
- You hold until 15.00x. The second half pays KSh 1,500. Total back KSh 1,680, profit KSh 1,480.
Note the first case. Banking half at 1.80x does not return your full KSh 200 on its own; the first half only covers the whole stake when you press at 2.00x or higher. Below that, the half button reduces the damage of a bad flight but does not remove it. Both halves remain normal bets with the same built-in edge.
Auto settings for shaky data and busy hands
Crash rounds run live. If your Safaricom bundle runs low, the network dips between two towns, or a boda rider needs your attention at the wrong second, a manual tap can come too late. The auto boxes are the fix. Enter both figures before lift-off; the game then settles at those values even if your screen freezes.
A sensible setup on a mid-range Android phone is the same every session: half at a modest figure, the remainder at a higher one. For example, with KSh 100 staked, half at 1.60x and the rest at 4.00x:
| Astronaut stops at | Half paid | Remainder paid | Total back on KSh 100 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.40x | KSh 0 | KSh 0 | KSh 0 |
| 2.20x | KSh 80 | KSh 0 | KSh 80 |
| 4.50x | KSh 80 | KSh 200 | KSh 280 |
| 9.00x | KSh 80 | KSh 200 | KSh 280 |
The last two rows show the price of automation: once the remainder is collected at 4.00x, a flight that goes on to 9.00x pays no extra. That is fine. The point of fixed values is that you stop guessing, and guessing late is where most crash losses come from.
The 5,000x ceiling in shillings
The ceiling for any one bet is 5,000x the amount you put in. On KSh 20 that is KSh 100,000, on KSh 50 it is KSh 250,000, and on KSh 200 it reaches KSh 1,000,000. The operator may write a lower payout limit into its own rules, and when that happens the lower figure applies.
Flights that long are extremely rare. Setting an auto value of several hundred to chase one means sitting through long runs of rounds that return nothing, so treat the ceiling as the outer edge of the game rather than a target.
What 95% RTP costs you
Spaceman's game page lists a 95% RTP. Across a very large number of rounds, about KSh 95 comes back for every KSh 100 staked and KSh 5 stays with the operator. Spribe lists 97% for Aviator. If you put KSh 50,000 through each game over a month, the expected cost is roughly KSh 2,500 in Spaceman against roughly KSh 1,500 in Aviator, before luck pushes the real result up or down.
That 95% covers every way of playing. Early exits, half-button splits and long holds all reshape the pattern of wins and losses, never the long-run average. The studio publishes no official volatility figure, but your own targets decide it in practice: low values give many small returns, high values give long dry spells.
Why doubling up after a loss fails
The quick rhythm tempts many players into a doubling system. Start at KSh 50 with a 2.00x target and lose six flights in a row: you have staked 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1,600, a total of KSh 3,150. The seventh bet must be KSh 3,200 just to finish KSh 50 ahead. Six misses in a row is uncommon in one sitting but certain to happen over enough sessions, and a stake limit or an empty M-Pesa balance ends the chain first.
Every bet in that chain also pays the same 5% edge, so the system only raises the amount wagered. A calmer approach is to fix the budget first and work out the stake from it:
- KSh 1,000 budget at KSh 20 a round gives 50 rounds.
- The same budget at KSh 50 a round gives 20 rounds.
- At KSh 100 a round it gives only 10 rounds.
Use money set aside for fun, never school fees, rent or your chama contribution, and stop when the budget is spent.
Leaderboards, chat and provably fair play
Spaceman takes its mood from live dealer games. A leaderboard shows the biggest wins in the room, a chat window connects the players, and a detailed bet log lets you scroll back through your own rounds. The game page adds statistics on recent results. Pragmatic describes the mechanics as provably fair.
None of these panels predicts the next stop. Each flight's end point is set by the RNG, so a string of short flights does not make a long one due. Telegram groups selling Spaceman "signals" cannot see the future either.
Spaceman beside two rival crash games
| Game | Studio | Main tool | Bets per round | Listed RTP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spaceman | Pragmatic Play | 50% cashout | One | 95% |
| Aviator | Spribe | Per-round seed check | Two | 97% |
| JetX | SmartSoft Gaming | Bet ladders | Four at most | 96.2% to 98.9% |
If the smallest house edge matters most to you, both rivals publish higher returns. If you want a single wager that locks in some profit mid-flight, Spaceman does that with less fuss than running two panels.
Legal note and practice in the demo
In Kenya, gambling is licensed by the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya, which replaced the Betting Control and Licensing Board under the Gambling Control Act 2025. Online casinos are a separate licence class, and only adults aged 18 or older may play for money. Check an operator's licence before depositing.
The demo on this page comes from Pragmatic Play's own server and uses play credits, so no M-Pesa or Airtel Money is involved. Our demo guide explains how to practise with a purpose. A good drill: run 30 rounds with the auto values from the table above, then 30 with a single full cashout at 2.00x, and compare the balance lines. If you prefer a game with no timer at all, Plinko settles each drop at your own pace. Before any real stake, check the operator's rules panel for the RTP, the bet limits and the maximum payout.
Where to play Spaceman in shillings
Questions from Kenyan players
What RTP does Spaceman have in Kenya?
Pragmatic Play lists Spaceman at 95%. Over a huge number of rounds that is about KSh 95 back per KSh 100 staked, while one session can land well above or below. Confirm the figure on the rules screen of the version you open.
How does the half cashout work on a KSh 200 bet?
Pressing it settles KSh 100 at the multiplier showing and leaves the other KSh 100 flying. At 1.80x you bank KSh 180 at once, and the remaining half can still be collected later or lost if the astronaut stops first.
Does the half cashout guarantee I get my stake back?
No. The banked half covers the full stake only when you press at 2.00x or above. Press lower and you need the second half to be collected too, otherwise the bet still ends in a loss.
What is the biggest win possible in Spaceman?
One bet can pay up to 5,000 times the stake, so KSh 50 tops out at KSh 250,000. An operator may set a lower payout limit in its rules, and in that case the lower amount applies.
Will Spaceman cash out if my data drops?
It will if you set the auto values before lift-off. With a full auto-cashout and a 50% auto-cashout figure entered in advance, the game settles by itself, so a weak signal mid-round cannot make you miss your exit.
Can a betting system or signal group beat Spaceman?
No. Each stop point comes from the RNG, which Pragmatic calls provably fair, and every bet carries the same edge. Doubling after losses only raises the total staked, and no group can see the next flight.
Who regulates gambling in Kenya?
The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya, set up by the Gambling Control Act 2025 to replace the Betting Control and Licensing Board. Online casino play for money is limited to adults aged 18 and over.
