The game in a few lines
Cash Pump came out on 17 October 2019 from Play'n GO, the Swedish studio behind Book of Dead. The artwork takes you onto an American desert highway: an endless road, a grinning driver in a helmet covered with stars and an old fuel pump, which gives the slot its name. Behind the theme is a layout you rarely see. The screen is split into four corners, and every corner is its own little slot with three reels and three rows. Press spin once and all four sets move.
Add the sets together and you get 12 reels. Each set has five fixed paylines, so 20 lines in all, and you cannot reduce them. The provider's rules quote a 96.86% average RTP, solid for a slot of that age. Volatility, the biggest possible win and stake limits are not given anywhere outside the game itself, and we do not make them up.
Is it legal to play in Nigeria?
Since the Supreme Court judgment of November 2024, gambling regulation in Nigeria is handled by each state rather than at federal level. If you want to play for naira, first confirm that the operator holds a licence for the state where you live. You must be 18 or older, and you should never try to get around a block. Everything on this page, including the demo, is free to use and involves no real money.
How one round plays out
Every round follows the same order. You choose a total stake, which is divided evenly between the 20 lines. The twelve reels spin and stop, leaving four separate 3x3 pictures. The game then scores each set on its own: a line wins when three matching symbols sit in a row starting from the leftmost reel of that set, with no gaps, and only the highest-paying combination per line is counted.
Two checks come next. First, the game looks at the four middle columns for a full stack of wilds; if one is found, the Stacked Wilds feature fires. Second, it looks for a scatter on each middle column; four of them, one per set, open the free spins. Finally, all wins from the four sets are added and paid at once.
The detail worth remembering is simple. Special symbols only ever land on the centre reel of a set. The left and right reels of every set carry ordinary symbols and nothing else.
What four sets do to the pace
Five lines on a 3x3 set means three rows and two diagonals, the same pattern as a pub fruit machine. Put four of those on one screen and the session gets choppy in a fun way: a small hit on one set while the others stay quiet, then two or three sets paying on the next spin. Because just three symbols make a win, the returns are frequent but usually small.
Take a ₦200 spin. Each line gets ₦10 of that stake and each set gets ₦50. Every line win is worked out from the ₦10 line stake, so a hit worth ₦30 or ₦60 is less than what you paid for the spin, and that is how this game normally behaves. Play'n GO files the game under classic and food themes, and the reels are filled with retro fruit machine icons. For their exact prices, open the paytable from the menu.
Stacked Wilds explained
The wild symbol sits only on middle reels and can stand in for anything except the scatter. A single wild on its own is just a helper that finishes a line through the centre of its set.
Things get interesting when a middle reel shows wilds in all three positions. The game then pastes that complete wild column onto the matching positions of the remaining three sets. Each set now has a wild centre, so it only needs the first and third reels to match for a line to pay. Whatever this feature pays is then boosted by a factor somewhere between x1 and x4.
Play'n GO lists those four multiplier values but does not explain how each set is matched to one. It is safest to think of the copied wilds as carrying one of four possible values. The main point stays the same: one full wild reel can make all four sets pay together.
How the bonus round works
The free spins start with 7 spins, and the trigger is strict. Each set must show a scatter in its centre column, all during one spin. Three out of four does not count.
Once the round begins, every scatter that shows up on any set goes into a counter. Whenever the counter completes another group of four, you receive 5 more spins and the four Stacked Wilds multipliers each step up by their own opening value: plus one, plus two, plus three and plus four. According to the rules, there is no maximum, and the higher values hold until the round is over.
So the deeper you get into a bonus, the more a copied wild column is worth. A pasted wild reel on the first free spin pays at its opening value, while the same reel after three or four groups of scatters can pay several times more for exactly the same symbols on the side reels. That is why players who reach a long bonus tend to watch the scatter counter as closely as the reels themselves.
The multiplier ladder in naira
Follow the four values as scatters are collected. The round opens at x1, x2, x3 and x4. Four scatters later they are x2, x4, x6 and x8. Eight scatters bring x3, x6, x9 and x12; twelve bring x4, x8, x12 and x16. The fourth value always climbs fastest, by four on every step.
Now money. Say you stake ₦200 and, in the base game, a full wild middle column appears and is paired with the fourth multiplier. Between them, the pasted wilds produce ₦100 of line wins before any boost, so at x4 you collect ₦400. Picture the same spin near the end of a long bonus, after twelve scatters, with that value sitting at x16. The same ₦100 of line wins becomes ₦1,600. Nothing about the symbols changed; the ladder made the difference.
That is the whole shape of Cash Pump. The base game drips small amounts, and the bonus is where a long run of scatters can turn those amounts into something worth having.
Handling your stake
Because the 20 lines are fixed, the only setting that changes your risk is the stake per spin.
- Plan for many spins. Four scatters at the same moment do not come often. A ₦50,000 budget at ₦200 per spin covers 250 spins even if nothing is returned.
- Treat small hits as small. A single line win often pays back less than the spin cost; it slows losses, it is not profit.
- Do not chase. A bigger stake after a losing streak leaves the next spin's chances exactly where they were.
- Choose your stop points before you begin: one for losses, one for wins.
To judge risk without an official rating, read our volatility guide and then run a few hundred demo spins, counting full wild columns and bonus triggers.
Other Play'n GO options
Cash Pump does without a bonus buy, an ante bet or cascading symbols. If you like the small three-reel format, Sweet 27 uses one 3x3 candy set with a wild that moves across the reels. If you would rather have five reels and a single strong bonus with an expanding symbol, Book of Dead is the studio's most famous title.
Checklist for the demo
Our free demo is loaded from Play'n GO's practice server with the real rules and paytable. Use it to find:
- what three of the highest symbol pay on one line, since three is the only winning length;
- the RTP shown in the rules, which should read 96.86% on average for the official build;
- the smallest and largest stake allowed, which change with operator and currency;
- how many full wild middle columns and four-scatter triggers turn up across a few hundred spins.
Real-money play is only for adults aged 18 and above. Set your budget first and stop when it is gone.
Where to play Cash Pump with naira
Questions Nigerian players ask
What is Cash Pump's RTP?
The average RTP in Play'n GO's rules is 96.86%. Different operators can host different builds, so the rules screen inside the game is where you confirm the figure for your version.
How many paylines does the game use?
Twenty fixed lines, made up of five lines on each of the four 3x3 sets. Every line is read from the leftmost reel of its set, and a line pays just its single highest combination.
How do I get into the free spins?
Land four scatters in one spin, with one on the middle reel of each set. You get 7 free spins. Scatters cannot appear on the side reels.
What does the Stacked Wilds feature do?
When a middle reel is completely covered by wilds, that column is pasted into the matching spots on the other three sets, and whatever it pays is boosted by a factor from x1 to x4.
Do the bonus multipliers stop at some point?
They do not. Every group of four scatters in the bonus brings 5 extra spins and pushes each multiplier up by its opening value, and the higher values stay in place until the round ends.
Can the Cash Pump bonus be bought?
It cannot. You can only reach the free spins by landing a scatter on all four sets during normal play.
Can Nigerians play Cash Pump for real money?
Gambling is regulated state by state in Nigeria since November 2024. Use only an operator licensed for your state, be 18 or older and never bypass a block. The demo here is free.
