Casino payments in Nigeria: bank transfer, OPay, PalmPay, cards, USSD and crypto
Moving naira in and out of a casino account is where most Nigerian players run into trouble, not the games. This guide compares every common method, shows what the reviewed offshore casinos actually list, and explains the checks that keep your money safe.

Start with the cashier, not the advert
A casino landing page may show a row of familiar logos, but the only list that matters is the one inside the cashier after you log in with an NGN account. Payment options depend on your country, your account currency and the payment provider the operator uses that month. We name a method below only when the operator's own payment information lists it. Where it does not, the honest answer is "check the cashier".
That rule matters because none of the offshore casinos we review names OPay, PalmPay or USSD in its public payment list. Several of them do accept naira and use local payment partners, so these options can appear in the cashier, but we cannot promise it for any single operator.
The methods at a glance
| Method | How it works | Deposit speed | Withdrawals | Main risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer | Instant NIP transfer to an account shown in the cashier | Usually minutes | Often supported, back to your own account | Wrong or personal recipient account |
| OPay and PalmPay | Transfer from the wallet app, or a checkout page | Usually minutes | Where the cashier offers it | Tier limits on your wallet |
| USSD | Bank short code on any phone, no data needed | Minutes | Rarely, payouts go to the bank account | Small per-transaction limits |
| Naira debit card | Visa, Mastercard or Verve card entered in the cashier | Instant if approved | Sometimes, often slower | International payments declined by the bank |
| Crypto (USDT and others) | Send coins to the wallet address in the cashier | Minutes after confirmation | Yes, usually the fastest | Wrong network, exchange rate swings |
Bank transfer
Instant interbank transfers are the backbone of Nigerian payments, and they are what most local betting sites use. When an offshore casino offers naira bank transfer, the cashier usually generates an account number, sometimes a new one for each deposit, held by the casino's payment provider. You send the exact amount from your banking app, and the balance appears once the provider matches the transfer.
Three habits prevent most problems:
- Send the exact amount. If the cashier asks for ₦15,000, sending ₦15,500 can leave the payment unmatched for hours.
- Check the account name. It should belong to a payment company. If it is a private person, stop and contact support first.
- Keep the session reference. Your bank's transfer receipt is your evidence if the deposit does not show.
OPay and PalmPay
OPay and PalmPay are the mobile money wallets most Nigerians carry, and local betting platforms accept them almost everywhere. On an offshore casino they can appear either as their own button, which opens a checkout inside the wallet app, or simply as a way to make the bank transfer described above, since each wallet has its own account number.
Two things affect how far you can go with them. First, both wallets require your BVN or NIN to be linked, and your verification tier decides your daily limits, so a large deposit may be blocked until you upgrade your tier. Second, the name on your wallet must match the name on your casino account. A payout to a wallet in someone else's name will be refused under every operator's terms.
USSD codes
USSD lets you pay from a basic phone with your bank's short code, with no data at all. That makes it handy for a quick top-up, but it is almost never a withdrawal route, and per-transaction limits on USSD are low. If the cashier shows a USSD option, it will usually give you a code to dial that includes the amount and a reference. Dial it exactly as shown and do not reuse an old code for a new deposit.
Naira debit cards
Visa and Mastercard appear in the payment lists of several operators, including 1WIN and Stake, and Stake says it accepts cards in selected local currencies. In practice a naira card often fails at an offshore casino, because many Nigerian banks restrict or block international online spending on naira cards and a foreign gaming merchant is a common reason for a decline. Ask your bank about its current limits before you rely on a card. Card withdrawals, where offered, tend to be slower than transfers or crypto, and 1WIN asks for a photo of the card with only the first six and last four digits visible during verification.
Crypto
Crypto is the one method every casino on our Nigeria list supports, and for BC.Game it is the only one. Many Nigerian players already hold USDT as a way to protect savings from naira swings, which makes it a natural fit.
- Choose the coin and the network in the cashier. USDT exists on several networks. Sending on a network different from the one shown means the coins can be lost.
- Copy the address, never type it. Check the first and last characters after pasting.
- Mind the minimums. BC.Game sets its minimum per coin, Stake does not auto-process deposits below $0.01, and 1WIN mentions about 5 USDT on some coins.
- Withdraw the same way. Rainbet says it sends crypto payouts within 5 to 15 minutes, BC.Game says a blockchain transfer usually confirms in 5 to 10 minutes, and Stake's crypto payouts typically land within the hour.
The trade-offs are real. The naira value of your balance moves with the exchange rate, blockchain fees are yours to pay, and a crypto payment is very hard to reverse. Buy and sell coins only through an exchange registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and never through a stranger who contacts you with a "better rate".
What the reviewed casinos list
| Casino | Naira and local payments in its own information | Crypto | Withdrawal terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1WIN | NGN account; Nigeria in its African working list; cashier varies by country | 15 coins incl. USDT | Cash-outs of 50 USD or less inside the hour; larger ones up to 5 days |
| Mostbet | NGN account, ₦500 minimum deposit, bank transfer and mobile payments | BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT | E-wallets minutes to 24 h, crypto usually under 1 h, cards 1 to 5 business days |
| Melbet | NGN among local currencies, bank transfer | BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT, DOGE | Local methods 15 min to 1 h when verified, bank transfer 3 to 7 business days |
| Stake | NGN among selected local currencies, cards in selected currencies | 20+ coins | Crypto usually within 1 h, bank transfer up to 3 business days |
1WIN is the only one that places Nigeria on its own list of working countries. Mostbet is the only one that prints a naira minimum, ₦500, and it charges no withdrawal fee of its own. Melbet requires each deposit to be turned over once before withdrawal, which is also true at 1WIN, Stake and Rainbet. 1xBet, BC.Game and Rainbet complete our Nigeria casino ranking, but their information names no Nigerian method, so plan on crypto there.
Turnover before withdrawal
Even without a bonus, most operators want each deposit played through once before you can cash out. Deposit ₦20,000 at 1WIN and you must place ₦20,000 in total bets first. With a bonus active the bar is much higher: at Mostbet a ₦25,000 bonus carries x60 turnover, which is ₦1,500,000 in bets within 72 hours. Read our Mostbet review and 1WIN review for the full terms.
Pros and cons by method
- Bank transfer: familiar and quick, withdrawals possible; depends entirely on the casino's payment partner being legitimate.
- OPay and PalmPay: fast and always in your pocket; tier limits and name matching can block larger amounts.
- USSD: works without data; low limits and no payouts.
- Naira cards: simple when approved; frequently declined for international gaming payments.
- Crypto: accepted everywhere on our list and fastest to withdraw; price swings, network mistakes and no chargeback.
Keep it safe and legal
Nigeria regulates gaming state by state since the Supreme Court judgment of November 2024, and the offshore casinos in this guide hold no Nigerian state licence. If a deposit or withdrawal goes wrong, your bank's dispute process and a Nigerian regulator may be unable to help. Never pay a casino through a middleman, never share your OTP or banking PIN with anyone claiming to be support, and never use a VPN to reach a site, which every operator here forbids. Decide your budget before you open the cashier, and test new games in the free demos first. 18+ only.
Questions Nigerian players ask
Can I deposit at an online casino with OPay or PalmPay?
Sometimes. None of the offshore casinos we review names OPay or PalmPay in its public payment list, but some accept naira bank transfers, which you can send from either wallet. Log in to an NGN account and check the cashier, and confirm the recipient is a payment company.
What is the fastest way to withdraw casino winnings in Nigeria?
Crypto is usually fastest: Rainbet says it sends payouts in 5 to 15 minutes and Stake's typically arrive within an hour. 1WIN pays up to 50 USD equivalent within 1 to 60 minutes. Naira bank payouts depend on the operator's payment partner.
Why was my naira card declined at a casino?
Many Nigerian banks restrict or block international online spending on naira cards, and foreign gaming merchants are a common reason for declines. The casino cannot override your bank. Ask the bank about its limits, or use a method the cashier lists for NGN accounts.
What is the minimum deposit in naira?
Mostbet publishes a ₦500 minimum in its deposit table. Other operators set minimums per method; 1WIN starts at about 5 to 10 USD equivalent and Rainbet needs $30 per deposit for its welcome bonus. The cashier shows the exact figure for your account.
Is it safe to pay a casino into a personal bank account?
No. If the transfer details show a private person rather than a payment company, stop and contact the casino's support. A payment to a personal account gives you no protection, and every operator requires deposits and withdrawals in your own name.
Which crypto should I use for casino deposits?
USDT is the most common choice because it tracks the dollar, and all the casinos on our Nigeria list accept it. Always select the same network in the cashier and in your wallet, and buy coins only through an SEC-registered exchange.
Do I need to wager my deposit before withdrawing?
At most of the operators we review, yes. 1WIN, Melbet, Stake and Rainbet require each deposit to be wagered at least once. A ₦20,000 deposit therefore needs ₦20,000 in bets before a withdrawal opens, and an active bonus raises the requirement much further.
