What Duck Hunters 2 is
Nolimit City released Duck Hunters 2 to all partners on September 10, 2026, after a week of early access that began on September 3. It is the third game in the series after Duck Hunters and Duck Hunters: Happy Hour, and it returns to the woods with the same backwoods family and a lot more machinery. The grid is six reels by six rows, and there are no paylines: the game uses Scatter Wins, where eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid form a win.
The published math is unusually detailed. RTP is 96.00%, split into 68.64% from the base game and 27.36% from bonus rounds. The hit frequency is 17.68%, free spins arrive on average once every 203 spins, a win of 100x or more comes about once in 984 spins, and the 40,000x maximum is hit roughly once in 88 million rounds. Nolimit City rates the game as Extremely Volatile, and those figures show why. Stakes run from 0.20 to 100 per spin.
How a spin works step by step
- At the start of the spin, random multipliers may be placed on random positions of the 6x6 grid.
- Symbols land. If eight or more of the same kind are visible anywhere, including wilds that substitute for them, that is a scatter win.
- Winning symbols are removed and a x2 multiplier is placed on each emptied position. New symbols drop in from above, in the same way a tumble works.
- If a position that already carries a multiplier takes part in another win, its value doubles: x2 becomes x4, then x8, x16 and so on up to x16,384.
- When no winning combinations remain, any Bomb on the grid explodes, clears symbols and raises multipliers, which can start a fresh cascade.
- The sequence ends when nothing more happens. If three or more Bonus symbols are visible, a bonus round follows.
The engine rewards repeated hits on the same squares. A cascade that keeps landing wins in the same corner can push one or two positions very high, which is where the big results come from. The exact way position multipliers are combined into the final payout is described in the in-game rules.
Position multipliers with a worked example
Doubling is easy to underestimate, so count it out. A fresh position gets x2 on its first win. Each further win on that square doubles it: x4, x8, x16, x32, x64, x128, x256, x512, x1,024, x2,048, x4,096, x8,192 and finally x16,384. That is 14 wins on the same square to reach the ceiling from nothing. In one base game cascade that almost never happens, but in a bonus round, where multipliers are kept from spin to spin, a square can keep climbing across all seven, eight or ten spins.
The paid Day boosters change the starting point instead. With Day 64 Spins, every position begins at x64. One win on a square then takes it to x128, and seven more wins on the same square reach x16,384. Starting from x2,048 with Day 2048 Spins, only three doublings separate a square from the cap.
Wilds, xWays and Bombs
Wilds
Wild symbols substitute for any regular paying symbol, which helps reach the eight-symbol threshold.
xWays and Infectious xWays
An xWays symbol transforms into a regular paying symbol and raises its position multiplier by 2x, 4x or 8x. If more than one xWays or Infectious xWays lands, they all reveal the same symbol. The Infectious version goes further: the revealed symbol infects every matching symbol already on the grid, expanding each of them to the same size, which can turn a near miss into a large win.
Bombs
A Bomb waits until no winning combinations remain, then removes itself and every symbol above it on its reel. Its own position gets a x2 boost, the one above x4, the next x8, and the values keep climbing up the column. On a 6x6 grid, a Bomb on the bottom row therefore touches six positions with x2, x4, x8, x16, x32 and x64. All Bombs explode before the next collapse, and Bonus symbols survive the blast. The Upgraded Bomb from the bonus rounds clears above and below it, boosting both directions.
The three bonus rounds
Three, four or five Bonus symbols start one of three free spins tiers. In all of them, position multipliers are kept for the whole round, and an Extra +1 Shot symbol awards one more spin.
| Bonus symbols | Round | Spins | Random upgrades |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Duck Hunt Spins | 7 | 1 |
| 4 | Hawk Eye Spins | 8 | 2 |
| 5 | Big Game Spins | 10 | 3 |
The upgrade pool has six entries: Upgraded xWays (xWays become Infectious xWays), Upgraded Bomb (clears above and below), Extra +2 Shots (replaces the +1 Shot symbol), +2 Upgrades (two more upgrades), Extra Multipliers (five extra multipliers on random positions on the first spin) and +1 Spin (one more spin at the start). Rolling +2 Upgrades early is the best outcome, because it can chain into the stronger items.
Bonus buys, boosters and what they cost
Nolimit City lists a long menu of paid options. The two bonus buys with published prices are the xWays Juicer at 500x the base bet, seven spins with Infectious xWays guaranteed on every spin, and the Bomb Juicer at 2,800x, seven spins with an Upgraded Bomb guaranteed on every spin. At the minimum 0.20 stake, those cost 100.00 and 560.00.
The boosters work more like an ante bet, raising the cost of a single spin in exchange for a better setup:
| Booster | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus Booster | 3x | A Bonus symbol guaranteed on the second reel |
| Bonus Hunt | 30x | A Bonus symbol on the first spin and on each avalanche |
| Day 8 Spins | 10x | All positions start at x8 |
| Day 64 Spins | 90x | All positions start at x64 |
| Day 512 Spins | 800x | All positions start at x512 |
| Day 2048 Spins | 4,000x | All positions start at x2,048 |
At a 1.00 stake, a Day 64 spin costs 90.00. None of these options guarantees a return; they reshape the risk. Decide your ceiling before opening the menu.
Bankroll math before you play
The published frequencies turn into simple budget numbers. With free spins arriving once every 203 spins on average, a player at 1.00 per spin stakes about 203.00 between bonuses, and gaps of two or three times that are normal for an Extremely Volatile game. Compare that with the xWays Juicer: at the same 1.00 stake it costs 500.00 up front for one round. Neither route is cheaper by default; the buy simply concentrates the risk into one outcome. If your session budget is 100 times your stake or less, the base game at a smaller stake is the more realistic way to see a bonus at all.
xTra spin and Side Hustle
After a round with a scatter win, the game may offer an xTra spin that keeps the position multipliers from the previous spin, or a cheaper version with those multipliers halved. The price is calculated from the multipliers on the grid, and the offer only appears when it costs no more than the previous spin won. Bonus symbols cannot land on an extra spin.
Side Hustle is an optional add-on bet on a specific outcome, paying a fixed amount on top of normal wins. Options include removing at least one of a given character symbol, any position reaching x16,384, two Bonus symbols in the base game, or a base spin with no win. Several can run at once, and each raises the total cost of every spin, so check the spin price shown on the bet button.
How to test it in the demo and read the rules
The free demo above is the real game with play credits, and it is the only sensible place to try a 4,000x booster. Use it to see how quickly squares double and how often Bombs fire. Then open the rules screen and confirm three things: the RTP of the build you are on, the bet limits for your currency, and the current prices of each buy and Side Hustle. If you enjoy multiplier engines but want a calmer ride, compare it with the tumble multipliers of Sweet Bonanza, or the multiplier wild reels of Wanted Dead or a Wild.
