Sweet 27 at a glance
Play'n GO released Sweet 27 on 27 June 2017. The look is a sweet shop dream: sugar-dusted fruit, chocolate BARs and candy-striped 7s over a backdrop of lollipops and pink hills. The format is as old school as it gets, three reels and three rows, but it pays in ways rather than lines. Three symbols per reel across three reels gives 27 routes from left to right, and all of them are live on every spin.
The official rules quote an average RTP of 96.10%. Play'n GO does not publish a volatility class, a maximum win or a bet range outside the game, so check the in-game rules for those. In rupee terms, a 96.10% average means the game is designed to hand back about ₹9.61 of every ₹10 staked over a very long run, while any single session can land far above or below that.
On the legal side: India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 has been in force since 1 May 2026 and bans offering and facilitating online money games nationwide, with challenges pending before the Supreme Court, and state laws vary on top of that. This page explains the game; it does not suggest ways around the law, and we never advise VPNs. Any real-money play, where lawful, is for adults 18 and over.
How a round plays out
- Set your stake. One total amount covers all 27 ways, for example ₹20 or ₹50 a spin.
- Spin. The three reels stop on a 3x3 window.
- Ways are counted. A prize requires one matching symbol in each of the three columns, any row, read from the left.
- Wild help. The wild substitutes for any symbol to finish a way.
- Feature check. A wild on reel 3 starts the rolling wild with 2 free spins.
- Optional gamble. After a base game win you can try to double or quadruple it on a card.
That is the whole game. No scatters, no cascades, no feature purchase.
Counting ways on a 3x3 grid
Ways pay any matching set across the three reels, whichever row each symbol sits in. Our guide to lines and ways goes deeper, but the counting is simple here. One match on each reel is one way. Two on the middle reel with one on each side equals 2 ways (1 x 2 x 1), so the prize is paid twice. Two, two and one gives 4 ways. A full stack on each reel would mean 27 ways of the same symbol, the ceiling for one spin.
Since only full three-symbol sets pay, every symbol has a single prize value. The number of ways it forms is what turns a small prize into a decent one. Open the paytable before your first real spin to see the rupee value of each symbol at your stake.
The rolling wild, explained
The wild substitutes wherever it lands. The moment it appears on reel 3, the feature kicks in:
- 2 free spins are awarded.
- Each free spin, the wild shifts one reel to the left: reel 3, then reel 2, then reel 1, substituting all the way.
- A new wild during free spins tops the remaining spins back up to 2, by adding one or two, and raises the multiplier by one.
- The multiplier stops at x3, and the round allows nine retriggers at most.
Play'n GO's own description puts the longest possible run at 20 free spins: the opening 2 plus nine top-ups of 2. Most rounds are far shorter, since the wild leaves the grid within two spins unless another one lands.
A rupee example of the feature
You are playing at ₹50 a spin when a wild lands on reel 3. The game gives you 2 free spins, multiplier x1.
Free spin 1. The wild moves to reel 2 and links two matching fruits on reels 1 and 3. That pays ₹20. A new wild appears too, so your spins go back to 2 and the multiplier becomes x2.
Free spin 2. The first wild slides to reel 1. The ways on screen add up to ₹30 before the multiplier, so you get ₹60. Another wild drops in: spins reset to 2 again and the multiplier reaches x3, its limit.
Free spin 3. Ways worth ₹25 at x3 pay ₹75. No new wild arrives.
Free spin 4. A blank spin ends the feature. Total: ₹20 + ₹60 + ₹75 = ₹155, a little over three times the ₹50 stake.
Now compare the quiet version. A wild lands on reel 3, the first free spin pays ₹10, no new wild appears, the second free spin pays nothing, and the feature is over with ₹10, a fifth of your stake. Rounds like that are common, and they are the reason not to judge the game by its best feature.
The ₹155 round is a good one by this game's standards. The x3 cap means even long chains stay in the range of a few times your stake, which is exactly why Sweet 27 feels gentle.
Colour or suit: the gamble option
After any base game win, a face-down card offers two bets:
- Colour: pick red or black. One in two chance; a correct pick doubles the win.
- Suit: pick one of four. One in four chance; a correct pick multiplies the win by four.
You may repeat it as many as five times consecutively. A ₹40 win on colour becomes ₹80 or zero; on suit it becomes ₹160 or zero. The rules confirm the gamble does not change the game's overall RTP, so it only makes results swingier. It is not available during Auto Play.
Who Sweet 27 suits
Sweet 27 works best for short sessions on a phone, when you want something you can follow without reading a manual. There is one symbol to watch, the wild, and one place where it matters most, reel 3. Players who enjoy long bonus rounds with stacking multipliers will find it thin; the x3 ceiling and the two-spin start keep every feature compact.
It also suits careful budgets. Because most outcomes are small and the feature stays modest, your balance tends to move in gentle steps rather than sudden jumps. That does not make losses impossible, only slower. A fixed stake of ₹10 or ₹20 a spin keeps the game in its intended rhythm.
What to read in the rules screen
Before trusting any number, open the in-game information pages. Three items deserve a look: the RTP line, since an operator can run a different build from the 96.10% average; the paytable, which shows what each symbol pays for three in a row at your current stake; and the gamble note, because operators may switch that option off. Spending a minute there saves guesswork later.
Planning your session
- Count spins, not rupees. ₹1,000 at ₹10 a spin is 100 spins; at ₹5 it is 200. A few hundred spins give a fair feel for how often a wild hits reel 3.
- Gamble rarely, if at all. Doubling is exciting, but repeated gambles turn a steady game into a coin flip.
- Keep the stake steady. The chance of a wild on reel 3 is the same on every spin, whatever happened before.
- Stop at your limits. Fix a loss limit and a time limit in advance.
