Our verdict

Wicked Grin plays more like a coin collector than a classic slot: the ordinary symbols tick along, but the real money comes when a reel flips into coins. Both bonus modes build on that idea in ways you can follow at a glance. For a Hacksaw title, the 3 out of 5 volatility makes it a relatively calm ride.

What we like
  • Coins worth 1x to 500x with multipliers up to x20
  • Two different bonus modes awarding 5 to 30 spins
  • 10,000x reachable in the base game and every bonus
  • Four paid options listed between 96.23% and 96.39%
Keep in mind
  • Regular symbol pays only visible inside the game
  • Weakest RTP build drops to 86.28%
  • Grins do nothing unless they hit the bottom row

Cartoon looks, coin maths

Hacksaw Gaming put Wicked Grin live on 8 October 2026. Everything is drawn like an early rubber hose cartoon, in black and white, with a skeletal character named Boney Bill grinning from the side. The playing field is five reels by five rows using All-Scatter pays: a symbol wins wherever it lands, as long as six or more copies show up together on the screen.

Those symbol wins are the background noise. The part that pays is the Wicked Grin symbol. Drop one on the bottom row and it climbs its reel, turning every cell into a coin or a multiplier. Coins carry fixed values from 1x up to 500x your bet, so one converted reel can be worth more than any ordinary combination.

Hacksaw's game data gives volatility as 3 out of 5, four RTP builds (96.27%, 94.32%, 92.28% and 86.28%) and a 10,000x maximum that holds whether you are in normal play or any of the bonuses.

A note for Indian players

Under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, in force since 1 May 2026, offering, advertising and processing payments for online money games is banned across India. Petitions against the Act are pending in the Supreme Court, and state rules apply as well. Anyone playing for real money must be 18+. The demo on this page is free and uses virtual credits, which is how we tested every feature below.

What happens in one spin

  1. Bet. The demo offered stakes of 0.10 to 100 in base currency; your site shows the rupee equivalents in its own menu.
  2. Grid fills. Twenty five symbols drop into the 5x5 window.
  3. Symbols pay. Six or more of a kind anywhere make a win. Our guide to pay systems explains how scatter pays compare with lines.
  4. Grins stretch. Once symbol wins are settled, a Wicked Grin or Epic Wicked Grin sitting in the bottom row expands over the whole reel.
  5. Reel converts. Every cell of the reel flips to either a coin or a multiplier, and coins pay as multiples of your bet.
  6. Bonus check. An FS or Super FS symbol in the bottom row expands instead and starts a bonus.

Two placement rules matter. A reel can only hold one type of grin at a time, and FS symbols never appear on the same grid as any grin. So every spin is either a coin chance or a bonus chance, not both at once.

Coin tiers in rupees

Every coin draws its starting value from one of four tiers. At a ₹20 bet the ranges look like this:

TierValues (x bet)At ₹20 bet
Bronze1x, 2x, 3x, 4x₹20 to ₹80
Silver5x to 9x₹100 to ₹180
Gold10x, 20x, 30x, 40x, 50x₹200 to ₹1,000
Diamond100x, 150x, 250x, 500x₹2,000 to ₹10,000

A reel of five bronze coins, the weakest possible conversion, still pays at least 5x, or ₹100 on a ₹20 spin. That is better than most ordinary symbol wins, which is why your eyes will keep drifting to the bottom row. Hacksaw keeps the regular symbol paytable inside the game rather than on its website.

How multipliers boost the coins

Instead of a coin, a converted cell can reveal a multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5, x10 or x20, boosting every coin above it on the same reel, plus coins on the neighbouring reels in the rows above. Multipliers never land on the top row, so they always have something to work on. When several show up, they resolve in reading order, from left to right and from the top row down. See our multiplier guide for how this compares with other games.

Here is a ₹50 example. A grin hits the bottom of reel 2 and flips it into, from top to bottom: a 4x bronze, a 20x gold, a 7x silver, an x2 multiplier and a 1x bronze. The multiplier is in row four, so it doubles the three coins above it: 4 + 20 + 7 = 31, doubled to 62. The bronze coin underneath stays at 1. The reel totals 63x, which is ₹3,150 on a ₹50 bet.

The Epic version

The Epic Wicked Grin sets off a chain. When it expands, every other grin on the grid expands too, right from wherever it happens to sit, not only from the bottom row. A grin stuck in the middle of reel 4 suddenly converts, and any multipliers now have coins on neighbouring reels to boost.

Getting into free spins

FS and Super FS scatters behave like grins: they only count in the bottom row. Once that happens and the wins are settled, each FS on the screen grows to fill its reel. The cells it covers carry a 1, 2 or 3, and the game sums them. One expanding FS gives 5 to 15 free spins; the grid can hold at most two, so the total runs from 5 to 30.

Say one FS stretches up its reel and reveals 3, 3, 1, 2 and 1. That is 10 free spins. Ordinary FS symbols open Stash N Stack, Super FS symbols open Coin Craze, and the two never share a grid.

Stash N Stack: a multiplier per reel

This mode keeps the base game rules and puts a stash multiplier above each reel, starting at x1. Every time a grin expands on a reel, that reel's coins get multiplied by the stash value, which then rises by one.

A ₹50 example. On the third free spin reel 4 converts into coins worth 15x. Its stash is still x1, so you get 15x, which is ₹750, and the stash moves to x2. Five spins later reel 4 converts again for 24x. Now it is doubled to 48x, ₹2,400, and the stash climbs to x3. A reel that keeps converting gets steadily richer, so long rounds pay off. Expanding FS symbols inside the bonus add another 5 to 15 spins each, up to 30 more in total.

Coin Craze: save it all for the end

Here a Coin Collector sits above every reel, starting at 1. Each time a grin expands, the coin values on that reel are banked in its collector rather than paid straight away. A multiplier revealed during an expansion first boosts the visible coins, then also multiplies the banked amount on its own reel and on the reels next to it. At the close of the round, the game totals every collector and multiplies the sum by your stake.

The two modes feel quite different. Stash N Stack credits wins spin by spin and builds up reel by reel. Coin Craze holds everything back, so a late x20 can multiply a whole column of savings at once. It is the swingier of the two, which fits its higher price.

Buy options priced in rupees

The demo listed four paid options. Here they are at a ₹20 bet:

OptionPriceAt ₹20 betEffectRTP
BonusHunt FeatureSpins3x per spin₹60 per spinBonus five times more likely each spin96.39%
Grinny FeatureSpins50x per spin₹1,000 per spinAt least one grin type every spin96.23%
Stash N Stack80x₹1,600Straight into that bonus96.26%
Coin Craze200x₹4,000Straight into that bonus96.28%

The four RTP figures sit within 0.16 points of one another, so the decision is about how much swing your budget can take, not about value. The FeatureSpins modes behave like super spins, a pricier spin with a changed base game, while a bonus buy puts a large amount on one round. FS symbols are switched off during Grinny spins, which makes that mode a pure coin hunt.

Builds and the cost of a low one

The best build is 96.27%. Operators can also choose 94.32%, 92.28% or 86.28%. Over ₹1,00,000 of play, the average shortfall is about ₹3,730 on the top build and about ₹13,720 on the lowest. That gap is far too big to ignore, so open the game info and check the figure; our RTP guide explains where to find it.

A demo plan before anything else

  • Play 200 spins at one stake and note how often a grin lands in the bottom row compared with higher up.
  • Buy each bonus several times with play money and see how often it returns more than its price.
  • Try a short run of Grinny FeatureSpins and compare the average coin reel with the 50x cost.
  • Read the game info for the RTP build, bet limits and maximum win.

Set a spending limit and a time limit before you start, and treat the 10,000x figure as a ceiling, not a target.

What RTP does Wicked Grin have?

Hacksaw's best build is 96.27%, with alternatives of 94.32%, 92.28% and 86.28% chosen by the operator. The buy options and FeatureSpins are listed between 96.23% and 96.39%. The game info screen shows which build is loaded.

What does the Wicked Grin symbol do?

A regular or Epic grin that drops into the bottom row stretches up its reel after wins are settled and turns each cell into a coin or a multiplier. Coins are worth 1x to 500x the bet, so ₹20 to ₹10,000 on a ₹20 spin.

How are the free spins triggered?

An FS or Super FS symbol has to land in the bottom row. It grows over its reel, every covered cell reveals 1, 2 or 3, and the sum gives you 5 to 30 free spins. FS opens Stash N Stack and Super FS opens Coin Craze.

What is the biggest possible win?

The cap is 10,000x the bet, which is ₹2,00,000 on a ₹20 spin. According to Hacksaw, you can hit it in normal spins, in both bonuses and in purchased rounds alike.

How much do the buy options cost in rupees?

At a ₹20 bet, Stash N Stack costs ₹1,600 (80x) and Coin Craze ₹4,000 (200x). BonusHunt FeatureSpins cost ₹60 per spin (3x) and Grinny FeatureSpins ₹1,000 per spin (50x). Whether they appear depends on the operator.

How volatile is Wicked Grin?

Hacksaw grades it 3 out of 5, which puts it mid-range for the studio. Expect frequent small results from symbols and coin reels, with the big moments coming from multipliers and the two bonuses.

Can I play Wicked Grin for real money in India?

Since 1 May 2026 the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 has prohibited offering online money games in India. Challenges are pending before the Supreme Court and state rules also apply. The free demo here uses virtual credits.
