The flock moves downtown
The release date was 8 October 2026, and Betsoft built it as a sequel to its earlier Birds release, which we do not cover separately. This time the cartoon cast lives in the city: a swaggering street bird, a crowd of feathered neighbours and a mad scientist who powers the bonus with a fizzing electrical contraption.
The layout changed along with the scenery. This time the grid is six reels by five rows, with pay anywhere wins and tumbling reels, the same broad approach as Sweet Bonanza or Gates of Olympus. On top sit multipliers reaching 500x, symbols that reveal a hidden match, Super Scatters with cash attached and a bonus multiplier that only grows.
Official figures: 95.87% RTP, volatility rated very high, and a hit rate of 28.97%. Put simply, about 29 spins in every 100 return something, and the other 71 or so return nothing.
The law for players in India
Before the rupee examples, a clear note. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, effective from 1 May 2026, prohibits offering, advertising and facilitating payments for online money games across the country. The Act is being challenged before the Supreme Court, and states have their own rules on top. Real-money gaming is 18+ only. The demo on this page runs on virtual credits, so you can see every feature below without spending anything.
From the first drop to the payout
- Stake. Bet limits depend on the site and appear in the bet panel; Betsoft does not publish a range.
- Thirty symbols fall into the six reels.
- Count, not position. Wins come from how many matching symbols are on screen, wherever they are. The minimum count and the pay for each symbol are in the in-game paytable. Our pay systems guide explains how this compares with lines.
- Tumble. Paying symbols vanish, the rest slide down and fresh ones fill the gaps.
- Repeat until a drop produces no new win.
- Multiply. Every multiplier visible on the grid is added up and the sum is applied to the spin's win after the last tumble.
The tumble guide goes deeper on cascades. With the hit rate below 30%, empty spins are the normal state of things, which is what you would expect from a very high volatility game of this kind.
Mystery symbols in normal play
During base game spins and tumbles, mystery symbols can drop in. When they open, all of them on the grid turn into one and the same symbol. Because wins depend on counts, that can tip a near miss into a win or push an existing win into a better pay band.
Picture a grid with several pigeons already showing and three mystery symbols scattered elsewhere. If they open as pigeons, the count jumps by three at once. If they open as something else, those three may add nothing. Betsoft lists mystery symbols for the base game; it does not mention them for free spins.
Base game multipliers, worked in rupees
Multiplier symbols worth up to 500x can land in any spin or tumble, not only in the bonus. Many pay anywhere slots hold them back for free spins, so this is a real point of difference. Our multiplier guide compares the common systems.
The rule is simple addition: all multipliers on screen are summed, then applied once the tumbles end. Here is an example at a ₹50 bet, with pay amounts chosen for illustration. The first drop wins ₹40 and a tumble adds ₹80, so the raw win is ₹120. During the sequence a 4x and a 10x multiplier are on the grid, which sum to 14x. The spin pays ₹1,680.
The catch: multipliers that arrive on an empty spin pay nothing at all. That is a large part of why the game is so swingy.
Fifteen free spins and the scientist's box
Any mix of four or more scatters opens 15 free spins, and during the round a further three or more extend it by 5.
The bonus centres on the Total Multiplier, shown on the scientist's electrical box. Multipliers that land on winning spins are added to it and stay there until the round ends. According to the game page on Betsoft's site, each fresh multiplier on a winning spin triggers the full accumulated value on that spin's win.
A ₹50 run, again with illustrative win amounts:
| Free spin | Raw win | New multiplier | Total Multiplier | Paid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | ₹60 | 5x | 5x | ₹300 |
| 6 | ₹100 | 20x | 25x | ₹2,500 |
| 11 | ₹45 | 10x | 35x | ₹1,575 |
Betsoft's release notes put it slightly differently, saying the Total Multiplier powers every winning cascade in free spins. The in-game rules decide which reading applies to the build you open, so check them before you judge a round. Either way, early multipliers are the valuable ones, because they keep paying for every spin that follows.
Super Scatters and the instant prize
Next to normal scatters, the game uses Super Scatter symbols, and each one counts as one of the four scatters the bonus needs. Trigger with one or more of them among the four and an instant cash prize is added, and it grows with the number of Super Scatters present. The release also notes that regular scatters pay on their own, in addition to opening free spins. Betsoft has not published the prize values, so read them on the paytable in the game.
Bet Booster and the two buys
- Bet Booster. With it active, your odds of reaching the bonus from normal play are twice as high. It behaves like an ante bet: you pay more each spin and see bonuses more often. The bet panel shows the extra cost.
- Buy Bonus. Two purchases exist: the regular 15-spin bonus, or a 15-spin Super version where no multiplier is below 10x. Both prices are displayed in the buy menu and move with your bet.
With the low values removed, each multiplier in the Super version gives the running total a big push. It costs more than the regular buy and, like any bonus buy, puts a large amount on one round with a wide range of outcomes.
Return, swings and the top prize
At 95.87% RTP, ₹1,00,000 wagered over time would return about ₹95,870 on average, around ₹130 less than a 96% game on the same amount. In a short session the gap is invisible; it only shows over long play.
We list the volatility as high on our scale, matching Betsoft's own "very high". Betsoft's launch news quotes 45,000x as the max win factor; on a ₹20 spin that would be ₹9,00,000. Confirm the precise cap and its basis in the rules.
Sizing a session
With a hit rate under 30% and volatility at the top of the range, expect normal play to nibble at the balance in between the moments when multipliers coincide with tumbles or for four scatters to line up. Decide how many spins a session should last, then divide the budget by that number. ₹2,000 over 400 spins means a ₹5 stake. Using the Bet Booster raises the price of every spin, so trim the base bet if you want the session to last as long.
Players who want gentler swings will be happier on a pay anywhere title rated medium. If watching a multiplier stack climb through 15 or more free spins is what you enjoy, this one is built for it.
Demo checklist
- Over 200 spins at one bet, work out what fraction paid anything and set it against 28.97%.
- Track whether multipliers in normal play tend to land on paying tumbles or on blanks.
- Try a stretch with the Booster active and tally the bonuses you reach per hundred spins.
- Read the rules for the Total Multiplier wording, buy prices, bet limits and the cap.
A dry run of several hundred spins is entirely possible here, so choose a bet your budget survives through one.

Frequently asked questions
What RTP does Birds in the City have?
Betsoft gives 95.87%, a little below the 96% many newer slots offer. On ₹1,00,000 played over time, that means about ₹4,130 kept by the game on average. The rules screen shows the figure for the build your site runs.
How are the free spins triggered?
You need at least four scatters, in any mix, for 15 free spins, and inside the round three more add another 5. Trigger with Super Scatters among them and an instant prize scaled to their number is paid on top.
What is the Total Multiplier?
It is a running sum of the multipliers that hit on paying free spins, kept until the round is over. On Betsoft's page, it kicks in each time a fresh multiplier shows up on a spin that wins.
Do multipliers appear outside the bonus?
Yes. Normal spins and tumbles can also bring multiplier symbols of up to 500x. All of them on the grid are summed and applied once the tumbles stop, but only if the spin produced a win.
Is there a bonus buy?
Yes, where the operator allows it. The menu offers the normal 15 spins or a Super set of 15 where multipliers start at 10x. The Bet Booster is a separate option that doubles the free spins chance in the base game.
What is the biggest possible win?
The launch news gives 45,000x as the max win factor, which would be ₹4,50,000 on a ₹10 spin. For the binding figure and its basis, read the rules of the build you open.
Can I play Birds in the City for real money in India?
Since 1 May 2026 the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 has prohibited offering online money games in India. Supreme Court challenges are pending and state rules also apply. The free demo here uses virtual credits.
