Fire Joker in a nutshell
Play'n GO put Fire Joker out on 13 June 2016, and it was the third title in the studio's Joker line. It borrows the look of an old pub fruit machine and sets it on fire: cherries, lemons, plums and grapes, then the bar, the star, the lucky seven and a blue X, all watched over by a laughing joker who doubles as the wild.
The layout is three reels by three rows with five fixed paylines. Only three identical symbols on a line count as a win, so every payout runs right across the screen. You will not find free spins, a gamble button or a feature buy here. The work is done by two features that are part of every spin: the Respin of Fire and a multiplier wheel.
Official figures from the provider: 96.15% default RTP, medium volatility, a maximum of 800 times the stake and a normal bet range from 0.05 to 100 base units. How that range looks in naira depends on the operator, and the rules screen of each build shows it.
What happens when you press spin
- Choose your stake. The five lines are permanently on, one coin per line, so the total you pay is the coin value times five.
- Reels stop. You get a 3x3 window of nine symbols.
- Lines are paid. Any line showing three of the same symbol wins; the joker can fill in for any of them.
- Near miss rule. No line win, but two reels covered top to bottom by a stack? The remaining reel gets one free spin.
- Full screen rule. All nine positions showing one symbol send you to the multiplier wheel.
Nothing else is hidden behind menus. That simplicity suits anyone who finds big feature slots too slow and wants a result in a couple of seconds.
Paytable with naira values
Play'n GO quotes three-of-a-kind wins as multiples of the line bet, which is one fifth of the total stake. The right column converts that for a ₦500 spin, where each line carries ₦100:
| Symbol | Three on a line (x line bet) | Line win on a ₦500 spin |
|---|---|---|
| Fire Joker wild | 80x | ₦8,000 |
| Lucky seven | 25x | ₦2,500 |
| Star | 20x | ₦2,000 |
| Bar | 15x | ₦1,500 |
| Plum | 7x | ₦700 |
| Grape | 6x | ₦600 |
| Lemon | 5x | ₦500 |
| Cherry | 4x | ₦400 |
| Blue X | 2x | ₦200 |
Look at the last rows. A single line of blue X symbols gives back ₦200 on a ₦500 spin, so you still end that round ₦300 down. A lemon line only returns your stake, and cherries leave you short. The fruits are packed close together, while the seven, star and bar form a clearly richer group. In practice the meaningful money comes from several lines at once and from full screens.
The joker wild
The joker can show up anywhere on all three reels and replaces every regular symbol. Because several lines share squares, one joker in the right spot can finish two or three lines on the same spin. Three jokers on one line are the best regular hit at 80x the line bet, which is ₦8,000 on a ₦500 spin.
The wild also links the two features together. Stacks on two reels lead to the respin, nine matching positions lead to the wheel, and the joker is the symbol that turns either of those into the largest possible payout.
Respin of Fire explained
When two reels stop completely stacked and there is no winning line, Fire Joker hands you one free respin of the reel that is left. The stacked pair stays locked while the third reel turns again. Should two different reel pairs both be eligible, the game holds whichever pair promises the bigger reward.
A typical case: reels one and two land covered in grapes, while reel three shows a mixture with no grape on any line. Instead of losing the stake, you watch reel three spin again for free. One grape or one joker in a useful row creates a line win. A full stack of grapes or jokers on that reel completes the screen and opens the wheel.
This rule is what keeps the game calm. It converts plenty of frustrating near misses into a genuine second chance, and it is a large part of why Play'n GO grades Fire Joker as medium volatility instead of high.
The flaming wheel
Fill all nine positions with one symbol and a flaming wheel appears. Whatever the five lines paid gets boosted by a random factor, the largest being x10. Play'n GO keeps the remaining segments and their odds unpublished, so the only way to see them is to watch the wheel in the game.
Remember what the wheel is multiplying. A full screen means all five lines have paid at the same time, so the starting amount is already five line wins. This wheel is the only multiplier in Fire Joker, and it decides where the 800x top prize comes from.
Sums in naira: from one line to the top
Use a ₦500 spin again, with ₦100 riding on each line.
- Seven on one line. 25 x ₦100 = ₦2,500, five times your spin.
- Screen full of plums. Every line pays ₦700, so 5 x ₦700 = ₦3,500 before the wheel. If it stops on x10, you collect ₦35,000.
- Screen full of stars. 5 x ₦2,000 = ₦10,000, then up to ₦100,000 with the top segment.
- Screen full of jokers. 5 x ₦8,000 = ₦40,000, eighty times the spin. With x10 on the wheel that becomes ₦400,000, which is exactly 800 times ₦500.
So the ceiling demands nine jokers and the best wheel segment together. According to the provider, a spin reaches the maximum payout roughly once in 559,000 spins, which makes it a remote event rather than something to plan around.
Return settings, variance and similar games
There are five return versions: 96.15% by default, then 94.23% and 91.23%, plus 87.24% and finally 84.26%. Operators licensed in Malta cannot use the three lowest. In RTP language, ₦100,000 staked over a very long run comes back as about ₦96,150 on the default and around ₦84,260 on the weakest build. Play'n GO labels the volatility medium.
| Game | Fire Joker | Starburst | Book of Dead |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year | 2016 | 2012 | 2016 |
| Layout | 3 reels, 5 lines | 5 reels, 10 lines | 5 reels, 10 lines max |
| RTP (default) | 96.15% | 96.08% | 96.21% |
| Variance | medium | low | high |
| Top prize | 800x | 800x | 5,000x |
Enjoy quick sessions with a modest ceiling? Starburst sits in the same 800x range with even gentler swings. If you want a much higher top from the same studio, Book of Dead offers a 5,000x cap in exchange for a rougher ride.
Stake options and the operator's role
One coin rides on each line, so the coin value is always a fifth of your total spin. In the standard setup coins run from 0.01 to 20.00, which produces the 0.05 to 100 spin range; a high-roller profile that some operators switch on goes as far as 1,000. The casino also decides which of the five return builds you get and may trim the list of coin values, so your stake menu can be shorter than the full range.
The feature rules on this page come from Play'n GO's own rules sheet. The operator controls two things only, the return version and the stake limits, and you can read both inside the game.
Legal note for Nigeria
After the Supreme Court judgment of November 2024, each Nigerian state handles gambling regulation for itself. Anyone playing with real money should first check that the operator is licensed for their own state, must be at least 18 and should never use tricks to get past a block. The demo below costs nothing.
Testing in the demo
Our demo is the official Play'n GO practice version running on play money. Besides the general tips in the demo guide, try these checks:
- Open the info screen and study the line map, so you know which squares each of the five lines uses.
- Over a few hundred spins, note how often Respin of Fire appears and how often it actually pays.
- See whether you hit a single full screen in that sample; it is the only route to large payouts.
- Read the return figure and the stake limits for that build.
Managing a naira budget
Medium variance and very short rounds mean the spin count climbs quickly. Since no spin can ever pay more than 800 times its stake, raising the bet to chase a big feature makes little sense. With ₦20,000 set aside for a session, a ₦100 spin buys about two hundred rounds, enough to see the respin and maybe the wheel. Pick a loss limit and a time limit before you start, and keep the stake flat.
Where to play Fire Joker with naira
Questions Nigerian players ask
What is Fire Joker's RTP?
By default the game returns 96.15%. Weaker versions at 94.23%, 91.23% and 87.24% also exist, down to 84.26%, and the operator chooses which build you play. The rules screen shows the exact number.
Are there free spins in Fire Joker?
There are none, and no bonus can be bought either. The two features are Respin of Fire, which gives one reel a second spin after a near miss, and the wheel that multiplies full-screen wins.
When does the respin trigger?
When two reels are fully stacked and there is no winning line. The stacked reels stay in place and the third reel spins once for free. If two pairs qualify, the more valuable pair is kept.
How do I reach the multiplier wheel?
You need one symbol on every one of the nine squares. After that, the wheel boosts the spin's combined win by a random factor of up to x10. Play'n GO does not publish the other wheel values.
What is the highest win in naira?
The limit is 800 times the stake, so a ₦500 spin can return up to ₦400,000. That needs a screen of nine jokers plus x10 on the wheel, roughly a 1 in 559,000 event.
How many paylines are there?
Five lines, and all of them are always active on the 3x3 grid. Each line carries one coin and pays only for three identical symbols, with the joker standing in for any symbol.
Can I play Fire Joker for money in Nigeria?
Gambling rules are set by each state since the Supreme Court ruling of November 2024. Use an operator licensed for your state, be 18 or older and never bypass a block. The demo here is free.
