What changed versus the original Sweet Bonanza
Pragmatic Play built this edition as a bigger-multiplier rework of Sweet Bonanza. The grid, the counting rule and the fruit and sweets paytable stay exactly as they were. The changes sit in the bonus multipliers, the win cap, the stake range and the purchase menu:
| Item | Original | 1000 edition |
|---|---|---|
| Bombs in free spins | x2 up to x100 | x2 up to x1000 |
| Win cap | 21,100x | 25,000x |
| Stake range in the rules | 0.20 to 100 | 0.20 to 240 |
| Extra stake option | Double chance at +25% | Ante Bet at +25% |
| Purchases | Free spins at 100x | Free spins at 100x and Super Free Spins at 500x |
| Grid and paytable | Unchanged: 6x5, eight or more anywhere, no wild | |
The listed return is 96.53%, falling to 96.5% with Ante Bet. Your operator's rules page shows the build that is actually loaded, so confirm it there. At R5 a spin the 25,000x cap equals R125,000.
Base game rules you already know
- Set a stake inside the 0.20 to 240 range; the bet menu shows the rand steps your account uses.
- All thirty squares fill, and each symbol type with eight or more copies pays wherever those copies sit. That is the scatter pays principle.
- Paid symbols leave the grid, the rest slide down and fresh symbols arrive from above.
- The tumble keeps cycling as long as new groups appear, then the chain is settled.
No wild has been added. The red heart still leads at 10x, 25x and 50x for eight or nine, ten or eleven, and twelve or more, and the banana still props up the table at 0.25x, 0.75x and 2x. At R5 that means eight hearts pay R50 and eight bananas R1.25. Because the paytable has not moved, base game sessions feel just like the first game.

Bombs up to x1000 in a rand example
Four, five or six lollipops pay 3x, 5x or 100x and start 10 free spins; three lollipops during the bonus add 5 more. Inside the round, bombs worth x2 to x1000 drop onto the grid and stay through the whole chain. When it ends, their values are added together and the chain win is multiplied by that sum, as our multiplier guide lays out. A chain with no win gets nothing from its bombs.
One chain at R5
Ten apples pay R7.50, then a tumble brings eight green sweets for R10, so the chain is worth R17.50. Three bombs landed during it: x8, x30 and x2, a sum of x40. The chain pays R17.50 x 40 = R700.
Swap the x30 for a x1000 and the sum becomes x1010, turning the same R17.50 into R17,675. In the original the strongest bomb is x100, so x8, x100 and x2 would stop at x110, or R1,925. That difference in reach is exactly what this edition sells.
Ante Bet, the 100x buy and the 500x Super Free Spins
The Ante Bet adds a quarter to every stake and doubles the likelihood of a natural bonus. A R5 spin costs R6.25, and the listed return drops from 96.53% to 96.5%.
Two purchases sit next to it. The regular free spins buy is 100x your stake, R500 at R5. The Super Free Spins buy is 500x, R2,500 at R5, and every bomb in that round is at least x20.
| Choice | Price at R5 | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Normal spin | R5 | Standard bonus odds |
| Ante Bet spin | R6.25 | Bonus twice as likely |
| Free spins buy | R500 | 10 bonus spins with the full x2 to x1000 range |
| Super Free Spins buy | R2,500 | 10 free spins, no bomb under x20 |
The floor matters because small bombs dominate an ordinary bonus. With it, a single bomb on that R17.50 chain pays at least R350, and two bombs at least R700. You pay five regular buys for the privilege, so compare one enhanced round with five ordinary ones. Our guide to bonus buys sets out that comparison.
Splitting a R1,000 budget four ways
All four routes share one paytable; what differs is how a fixed amount is spread. Take R1,000 for a weekend session. At R5 a spin it funds 200 normal spins, or 160 spins with Ante Bet. The same money covers two regular buys at R5, and a Super Free Spins purchase is only reachable by dropping the stake to R2, where it costs the full R1,000.
Normal spins give the most playing time and several shots at a natural trigger. Ante Bet gives up 40 spins in exchange for doubled bonus odds on the rest. Regular buys skip the wait but stake everything on two rounds. One Super purchase is a single all-or-nothing attempt. The return figures are 96.53% for normal play and 96.5% under Ante Bet; should a buy run at another figure, the rules page says so. The real difference between the modes is the spread of results, and that should guide your pick.
Who should pick the 1000 edition
If the x100 bomb ceiling in the original felt like the thing holding back its bonuses, this version fixes that and leaves the rest alone. Players who prefer instant prizes to bigger bombs should look at Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter. If you mostly enjoy the base game, the two play almost the same before free spins arrive.
Practising in the demo and the South African legal note
South Africa's National Gambling Act of 2004 does not authorise online casino games; online, the only legal option is sports betting with provincially licensed bookmakers. We do not encourage breaking local law and never recommend VPNs or ways around blocks. The free demo runs on play credits, and real-money gambling is for over-18s only.
- Run 100 base spins and check that they feel like the original. With an identical paytable, they should.
- Reach or buy several regular bonuses and record each bomb sum. Expect mostly modest totals; the x1000 is rare.
- Buy a few Super rounds with demo credits and set their average against five regular buys.
- Open the rules to confirm the return build, the 0.20 to 240 stake range and whether both purchases are offered where you are.
Keep the stake in proportion. If one Super purchase would take more than a small slice of your month-end budget, stay with spins or the 100x buy.

Questions from South African readers
What RTP does Sweet Bonanza 1000 have?
The listed return is 96.53%, and 96.5% with Ante Bet active. Operators can run other builds, so read the figure in the game rules before you stake any rand.
How big can the bombs get?
Bombs are worth anything from x2 to x1000, and you only meet them in free spins. All bombs from one tumble chain are added together, so x8, x30 and x2 make x40 and turn a R17.50 chain into R700.
What is the maximum win in Sweet Bonanza 1000?
Wins are capped at 25,000x your stake, R125,000 at R5. That is up from 21,100x in the 2019 original, while the Super Scatter edition goes as high as 50,000x.
What do the two bonus buys cost?
The regular free spins buy costs 100x your stake and Super Free Spins cost 500x, which is R500 and R2,500 at R5. In the Super round every bomb is worth at least x20.
What does Ante Bet change?
It adds 25% to each spin, so R5 becomes R6.25, and doubles the chance of triggering free spins naturally. With Ante Bet on, the listed return moves to 96.5%.
Does Sweet Bonanza 1000 use the same paytable as the original?
Yes. The grid, symbols and values match: the red heart pays 10x, 25x and 50x for eight or nine, ten or eleven and twelve plus, and there is still no wild. Bombs, cap, stakes and buys are what changed.
How many free spins does the bonus give?
Four, five or six lollipops open a 10-spin bonus; the scatter win is 3x, 5x or 100x your stake, so R15, R25 or R500 at R5. Three lollipops during the round add 5 spins.
