How the board works, briefly

Each spin drops forty-nine sweets onto a 7x7 board. When five or more identical sweets connect along their edges, left to right or top to bottom, you have a paying cluster. The winners pop, sweets above slide down, fresh ones fall from the top, and another win can follow inside the same spin. Any cell involved in a win receives a mark, and when a marked cell is part of a second win it turns into a multiplier. Pragmatic Play put Sugar Rush out in 2022, and that loop is the whole game.

Which shapes pay and which do not

If you are used to payline slots or pay-anywhere games, the board can fool you at first, so these are the rules that settle every payout:

• You need at least five. A group of four lollipops earns nothing.
• Sweets must share an edge, left, right, above or below. Pieces touching only diagonally at a corner do not link up.
• Apart from that, location is irrelevant. A cluster may wind across the board provided every sweet shares an edge with the next one.
• Every win triggers a tumble, which is how a single spin can pay one cluster after another.

Paytable with naira values

There are seven paying sweets, four candies on top and three gummy bears lower down. The rocket is a scatter with no payout of its own; its job is to trigger the bonus. The table shows bet multiples for four cluster sizes, plus what a 12-piece cluster returns on a ₦100 bet. Sizes in between appear in the paytable inside the game.

Payouts rise sharply with size. On a ₦100 bet, five orange bears give back ₦20, yet fifteen or more give ₦2,000. Five lollipops return ₦100 and fifteen return ₦15,000. Little clusters mainly serve to mark cells; real money comes from large clusters sitting on top of multipliers.

Climbing from a mark to x128

This ladder is what sets Sugar Rush apart from ordinary tumbling slots. The general idea is in our multipliers guide; below is how one cell develops.

If a winning cluster sits over more than one multiplier cell, the game adds those values and applies the total to the cluster's win. So three x2 cells make x6, not x8.

One base game spin, counted in naira

Your bet is ₦200. The opening drop lands eight red bears for 0.75x, so ₦150, and those eight cells get marked. After the tumble, eight green stars connect for 1x, or ₦200, with two of them resting on marked cells. Both turn into x2, giving the cluster x2 + x2 = x4 and a ₦800 payout. No further clusters form, and the spin is worth ₦950 in total.

As soon as the board stops moving, all marks and multipliers are cleared. This is why the base game feels held back: a long tumble chain may build a couple of multipliers, yet none of them survive into your following spin.

Free spins with a board that keeps its memory

Land three or more rocket scatters in any position and the free spins begin. The count of rockets sets how long the round runs:

Any rockets that drop during the bonus extend it with extra spins. The key difference is that marks and multipliers now remain until the final spin. Say a cell hits x16 on the second spin: on the ninth spin it still shows x16 and is ready to double again.

Worked bonus at ₦100

Four rockets give you 12 spins. By the eighth spin, earlier wins have left cells worth x32, x16 and x2 on the right-hand side. Then twelve pink lollipops connect across all three. The base win is 15x, meaning ₦1,500. Adding the multipliers gives x32 + x16 + x2 = x50, so the cluster pays ₦1,500 × 50 = ₦75,000, a return of 750 times your bet from a single cluster.

The opposite outcome happens just as often. When early wins scatter across the board, you collect many x2 and x4 cells that never sit together under one big cluster, and the bonus ends with only a few thousand naira.

Grouping matters far more than the count of multipliers. Ten lone x2 cells scattered about lose out to three strong cells packed together, since each cluster only picks up the cells beneath it. While a bonus plays out, watch where the valuable cells bunch up: a compact patch of x16 and x32 values is what creates the huge wins, whereas a board sprinkled with isolated marks rarely delivers.

The 100x buy and its true price

If your operator permits it, the bonus buy jumps straight into free spins for 100x the bet: ₦2,000 on a ₦20 bet, ₦10,000 on ₦100 and ₦50,000 on ₦500. In effect you prepay the feature's average cost and avoid waiting on rockets. The swings remain, though: a purchased bonus where no multipliers join up may return only a small part of what you paid. When one purchase takes more than a fifth of your session budget, your bet is too big for buying.

RTP, volatility and the 5,000x cap in naira

Pragmatic rates the volatility as high. You should expect plenty of small cluster wins worth less than the bet, long runs with no scatters and the occasional bonus where multipliers connect. Because cluster wins pay some money back along the way, treat the second column as an upper limit, not a prediction. Available naira bet sizes vary by operator and appear in the rules.
