What Zeus 1000 is

Zeus 1000 comes from WMS, whose Zeus series also includes Zeus 2 and Zeus III, and which today sits inside Light & Wonder. The Light & Wonder game catalog lists it as Zeus 1000 (DUAL) with game ID 500227 and an RTP of 96%. The DUAL label describes the layout: two separate reel sets side by side, a regular 5x4 main set and a 5x12 colossal set with three times as many rows.

The name is not a multiplier claim. The 1000 refers to the free spins Zeus feature, which can add up to 1,000 extra Zeus wilds to the reels in a single spin. Two reel sets on one screen

The left side of the screen holds the main reel set: five reels, four rows, 20 positions. The right side holds the colossal reel set: five reels, twelve rows, 60 positions. Every spin fills all 80 positions, and each set uses its own reel strips.

The two sets pay independently. Line wins must start on the leftmost reel of a set and run across adjacent reels of that same set, and a line never continues from the main set into the colossal set. Only the highest win per winning combination is paid on each set, and wins on different lines are added together.

What links the two sets is the Wild transfer, explained below. Without it, Zeus 1000 would simply be two slots running in parallel; with it, a good stack on the small reels can light up a reel that is three times taller.

How a spin works, step by step

1. Choose lines and bet. The game offers up to 100 paylines. The bet is set per two lines, so at 100 lines your total bet is 50 times that amount: 0.01 per two lines gives a 0.50 total bet.
2. Both reel sets spin. The main set and the colossal set stop at the same time.
3. Wild transfers happen first. If a Wild stacks four high on a main set reel, the matching reel on the colossal set turns completely Wild.
4. Lines are evaluated. All winning combinations are checked after the transfers, separately on each set.
5. Bonus symbols are counted. Three or more scattered BONUS symbols across both sets start free spins.

The Quikset panel, opened from the Total Bet meter, lists preset totals calculated with maximum paylines. Picking a value sets the lines and bet per line for you without spinning the reels.

Symbols and what each special symbol does

The official rules name five special symbols. The regular symbols are a mix of Greek-themed pictures and card royals, and their line values are shown on the paytable screen, which reflects your current bet setting.

The WONUS rule is a neat detail. Normally a BONUS symbol landing on a reel that just became Wild would be wasted for line wins. Here it turns into a full Wild, so the transferred reel stays completely wild from top to bottom.

The Wild transfer to the colossal reels

The Wild only appears on the main reel set, so the colossal set cannot land Wilds on its own. The only way to get them there is the transfer: whenever a Wild covers all four rows of a main set reel, the reel in the same position on the colossal set becomes Wild in all 12 rows.

Think about what that does to the colossal set. A fully Wild reel 2 on a 12-row set connects to every payline that crosses reel 2, so any line that has a matching symbol on reel 1 and continues on reels 3 onward gets an extra link for free. Two transferred reels on the colossal set, say reels 2 and 4, make five-of-a-kind lines far easier, because you only need matching symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5.

The same Wild stack also counts on the main set itself, so one stacked reel can pay on both sets in the same spin.

Free spins and scatter awards

BONUS symbols land only on reels 1, 3 and 5 of each set, and the award table goes up to six of them. Three or more scattered BONUS start the free spins round and pay an instant award multiplied by your total bet:

Free spins use the bet per line and the number of lines from the spin that triggered them. An alternate set of reels is used, BONUS symbols do not appear, and the round cannot be retriggered, so the spin count you start with is the spin count you get.

The Zeus feature: up to 1,000 extra wilds

This is where the game earns its name. During free spins, if ZEUS stacks four high on reel 1 of the main set, the Zeus feature starts:

• Every ZEUS on screen changes to ZEUS ADD, which is wild for ZEUS.
• The game adds a total of 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 or 1,000 ZEUS ADD symbols for that spin, spread across every reel except reel 1 of the main set.
• An alternate set of reels is used for that spin, and line wins are then evaluated.

Because ZEUS ADD substitutes only for ZEUS, the feature is built to produce ZEUS line wins across both sets at once, with the 60-position colossal set doing most of the heavy lifting. The rules also promise that the Zeus feature triggers at least once in every free spins round, so no bonus ends without it.

The bonus guarantee, with a worked example

When you play all 100 lines, the free spins round is guaranteed to pay at least 10x your total bet, and that figure includes the instant BONUS award. If a round finishes below 10x, the game tops it up at the end. With fewer lines active, the guarantee is replaced by a Bonus Mystery Kicker that may add 5x, 10x or 20x your total bet when the bonus ends.

Here is how the numbers work at 0.01 per two lines on 100 lines, a 0.50 total bet:

• Three BONUS land. You get 10 free spins and an instant 2x award of 1.00.
• The spins pay 1.40 in line wins, including the guaranteed Zeus feature. The round total is 2.40, or 4.8x your bet.
• The guarantee steps in. 4.8x is below 10x, so the round is raised to 5.00.

Now take four BONUS instead. The instant award is 10x, or 5.00, on its own, so the guarantee is already met before the first spin, and every free spin win is pure profit on top. Six BONUS pay 25x, 12.50, before any of the 30 spins are played.

RTP, missing figures and testing the demo

Light & Wonder lists the RTP at 96%. The provider does not publish a maximum win, a volatility rating, a release date or a bet range, and there is no bonus buy. Line values are delivered by the game server and shown on the in-game paytable rather than in public documents.
