Our verdict

This is a feature heavy take on the Big Bass formula, with two collector wilds, scatter helpers in the base game and a REPEAT option that can replay a finished bonus. The core loop is unchanged, so fans of the original will feel at home. Watch the menu: three antes and three buys make it easy to spend far more per spin than you planned.

What we like
  • RTP of 96.50% in normal play, all three antes and all three buys
  • Free spins start at 15, 20 or 25 spins, more than the original
  • Money symbols reach 5,000x the total bet
  • Base game helpers can turn two scatters into a trigger
Keep in mind
  • Wilds only appear in free spins, so the base game relies on line wins
  • Low symbols pay less than in Big Bass Bonanza
  • Antes and buys cannot be combined, and costs reach 2.5x per spin or 300x per buy

What changed versus Big Bass Bonanza

Big Bass Football Bonanza is a 2026 entry in Pragmatic Play's Big Bass series. If you know Big Bass Bonanza, the skeleton is the same: 5 reels, 3 rows, 10 fixed paylines, money symbols that pay only when a wild fisherman collects them in free spins, and retriggers that raise a collection multiplier to 2x, 3x and finally 10x. The changes sit around that skeleton:

  • Two wilds instead of one. Fishermen in a red or a blue jersey, each with its own meter.
  • More starting spins. 15, 20 or 25 free spins for three, four or five scatters, against 10, 15 or 20 in the original.
  • Bigger money values. The list tops out at 5,000x the total bet.
  • Base game scatter help. Two scatters can be turned into a trigger by a respin or an extra scatter.
  • Random modifiers in the bonus, three ante bets, three bonus buys and a REPEAT chance that can replay a bonus.
  • RTP 96.50% in every mode, against 96.71% for the original.

How a spin works and the paytable

A spin costs 10 coins, one per line. Symbols pay from left to right on adjacent reels starting from reel 1, and only the highest win per line is paid. In the base game the money symbols land with values on them, but no wild can appear to collect them, so they are a preview of what the bonus could do. The scatter appears on all reels and is the way into the feature.

The game's own paytable data gives the following values per line, shown here as multiples of your total bet. The symbol names are not listed in the rules, so the table uses ranks.

Symbolx2x3x4x5
Top premium0.5x5x20x200x
Second premium-3x15x100x
Third and fourth premiums (each)-2x10x50x
Fifth premium-1x5x20x
Two higher low symbols (each)-0.2x2.5x10x
Three lower low symbols (each)-0.2x1x5x

The premium values match Big Bass Bonanza exactly. The low symbols are thinner: three of a kind returns 0.2x instead of 0.5x, and three of the five low symbols top out at 5x instead of 10x.

Scatters and the base game helpers

When two scatters land without a third, the game can step in at random in one of two ways. If the scatters can move down one row without leaving the grid, a respin is triggered in which the scatter reels drop one position and the other reels spin again. Alternatively, one more scatter can simply appear in a random position after the spin. Neither is guaranteed, but both make two scatters worth watching.

Free spins, the two wilds and the retriggers

Three, four or five scatters award 15, 20 or 25 free spins. Special reels are used, and wilds now appear on all reels. Every wild, red or blue, substitutes for all symbols except the scatter and money symbols, and collects the values of all money symbols on the screen. The possible money values are 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 200x, 500x and 5,000x the total bet.

Each wild is stored in the meter of its color until the round ends. Every fourth wild collected retriggers the feature with 10 more spins and raises the collection multiplier, first to 2x, then 3x, then 10x. After the fourth level no further retriggers are possible, so the round can grow by 30 spins at most.

Three random modifiers can fire at the end of a free spin:

  • Wilds on screen but no money symbols: money symbols can appear in random positions.
  • Money symbols on screen but no wilds: a podium can pull a random reel up to bring wilds into view.
  • Wilds on screen but no money symbols: a BASS-ZOOKA animation can change every symbol except the wilds into something else.

A worked bonus example

Play a 1.00 stake and trigger with three scatters for 15 free spins. On spin two a red wild lands with money symbols of 10x and 25x: it collects 35x and pays 35.00. Over the next spins three more wilds land without much money around them, and the fourth wild in a meter retriggers the round: 10 extra spins and a 2x collection multiplier.

Later, a blue wild lands with money symbols of 5x and 20x. At the 2x level that collect pays (5 + 20) x 2 = 50.00. The same two money symbols at the 10x level would pay 250.00, which is why the late levels decide most big rounds. A single 5,000x money symbol collected at any level reaches the cap on its own, because the total win is limited to 5,000x and the round ends once it hits that figure.

Ante bets, bonus buys and REPEAT

The game offers three ante bets on top of the 10 coin normal play:

Bet multiplierCost per 1.00 baseEffect
15x1.50More scatters on the reels, higher chance of free spins
16x1.60REPEAT chance at the end of free spins
25x2.50Both: higher trigger chance and the REPEAT chance

REPEAT means that at the end of a bonus the game may restart the feature from the beginning, with the same number of initial spins and the same random modifiers, while you keep everything won so far. The cap of 5,000x is counted on the base bet, so with the antes it equals about 3,334x, 3,125x and 2,000x of the raised stake.

With any ante on, the bonus buys are disabled. Without it you can buy free spins for 100x, free spins with the REPEAT chance for 180x, or MEGA free spins for 300x, in which only three wilds of any color in any meter are needed for each retrigger. At a 1.00 stake that is 100.00, 180.00 or 300.00.

RTP, volatility and testing it in the demo

The RTP is 96.50% in normal play, in all three antes and in all three buys. The provider states the chance of the 5,000x max win as 1 in 2,544,391 spins in normal play. The rules screen labels the game low volatility, meaning more frequent smaller payouts while big wins stay possible. Casinos can run different RTP versions, so check the rules screen where you play.

In the free demo above, play a hundred base game spins and note how often two scatters trigger a helper. Then buy the 100x bonus a few times and compare it with the 300x MEGA version. Our demo guide explains what to read in the rules before you play for real money, including the bet limits your casino sets. For a version with a higher cap, see Big Bass Bonanza 1000.

Three, four or five scatters award 15, 20 or 25 free spins. Every fourth wild collected adds 10 more spins and raises the multiplier, up to three retriggers, so the round can grow by 30 spins.

What do the red and blue wilds do?

Both wilds appear only in free spins. Each one collects the values of all money symbols on the screen and is stored in the meter of its color. Every fourth wild collected retriggers the feature and raises the multiplier to 2x, 3x and then 10x.

How does the REPEAT feature work?

Yes, when no ante bet is active. Free spins cost 100x, free spins with the REPEAT chance cost 180x and MEGA free spins cost 300x. In MEGA free spins only three wilds are needed for each retrigger.

How is it different from Big Bass Bonanza?
