Golden Pride Slot Review for Players in India

Golden Pride is a BGaming release from November 2024 with 243 ways on five reels. Its Lion Wild grows to cover a whole reel, and when it fails to connect it locks in place for respins whose multiplier doubles from x1 to x1,024 until something pays. A good pick if you enjoy one sharp feature.

Our verdict

Golden Pride turns the most annoying moment in a slot, a wild that lands and pays nothing, into the start of its bonus. The 12x entry buy is cheap and every option keeps the same 96% return. Line values are modest, so the game only shines when a respin chain runs long.

What we like
  • Missed Lion Wilds become respin chains instead of dead spins
  • Multiplier doubles on every empty respin up to x1,024
  • Entry buy priced at 12x the stake
  • Same 96% return in base play and all three buys
Keep in mind
  • No free spins round at all
  • Best single way pays only 15x
  • Chains stop at the first win, however small

The idea behind Golden Pride

BGaming added Golden Pride to its Classic range on 20 November 2024. The look is royal and medieval: an armoured King Lion, stone ramparts and treasure in gold. The grid is the usual five reels by three rows, but there are no fixed lines. Instead, 243 ways pay any matching symbols on neighbouring reels from the left, whichever row they sit in.

The provider rates volatility as medium-high, publishes a 96% return and a 6.00 hit rate, and caps one round at 15,360 times the stake. There is no free spins mode, no scatter and no collection meter. All the drama lives in a single symbol, the Lion Wild, and in what happens when it lands and misses.

That focus makes the game easy to follow on a small screen. You only need to watch for one thing, and you always know which reel it is on.

Where real-money play stands in India

The rupee amounts below explain the maths; they are not an invitation to stake money. From 1 May 2026, India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 has prohibited offering or advertising online money games and moving payments for them nationwide. Legal challenges sit before the Supreme Court, and state laws add their own layer. Any real-money play is restricted to adults of 18 and above. Our free demo works with virtual credits only.

What a single spin does

  1. Set the stake. The demo offers 0.20 to 16 credits; a live operator would show its own rupee limits.
  2. Fifteen symbols settle on the reels.
  3. A win starts when one symbol shows up on each of the first three reels, row positions ignored. Reels 4 and 5 can extend it to four or five of a kind.
  4. Every distinct combination of cells counts as its own way and is paid separately. On one way only the best result counts.
  5. If the Lion Wild lands, it stretches over its entire reel. Then it either completes a win or, failing that, starts the respins.

Because ways multiply, two copies of a symbol on reel 1 and two on reel 2 with one on reel 3 already form four separate ways. Small wins can stack up that way even without the Lion.

Paytable at a ₹20 stake

Values come from the demo server and are quoted per way as multiples of the total stake. The server does not name its symbols, so we sort them by value.

Symbol rankThree alikeFour alikeFive alikeFive alike at ₹20
Top premium2.50x (₹50)6x (₹120)15x₹300
Premium 22x (₹40)5x (₹100)12x₹240
Premium 31x (₹20)3x (₹60)6x₹120
Premium 41x (₹20)2.50x (₹50)5x₹100
Middle 10.50x (₹10)1.25x (₹25)1.75x₹35
Middle 20.50x (₹10)1x (₹20)1.50x₹30
Middle 30.50x (₹10)0.75x (₹15)1.25x₹25
Two lowest symbols0.40x (₹8)0.60x (₹12)1x₹20

The numbers are deliberately small. Five top premiums on one way give ₹300 on a ₹20 stake, and five of the lowest just return the stake. The paytable is the base layer; the respin multiplier is what turns it into serious money. The 15,360x cap is simply 15x times x1,024.

How the Lion Wild behaves

The Lion can appear on any reel and replaces every symbol. As soon as it lands it expands to fill all three cells of that reel. A full reel of wilds connects with every row of its neighbours, so one Lion often opens several ways at once, acting like a quiet multiplier on the number of winning combinations.

From there only two things can happen. If the expanded Lion completes at least one way, you are paid and the spin ends. If it completes nothing, it stays locked on its reel and the respin round begins. In other words, the Lion is never wasted, it just changes what it does.

The doubling respin chain, in rupees

While the Lion is locked, the other four reels spin again. The first respin carries x1. Each respin that pays nothing doubles the multiplier for the next one. Ten doublings take it from x1 through x32 and x256 up to x1,024, the top of the bar shown in the game. The first respin that produces any win ends the chain, and that win is multiplied by the current value.

A worked case at ₹50 a spin. The Lion lands on reel 2 and misses. Respins one to five pay nothing, so the multiplier passes x1, x2, x4, x8 and x16 without use. The sixth respin, now at x32, lands one way of four Premium 2 symbols, worth 5x or ₹250 on its own. Multiplied by 32, the respin pays ₹8,000.

Now the flip side. Had the second respin hit a single way of the lowest three of a kind, 0.40x or ₹20, the chain would have closed at x2 for just ₹40. You cannot pause a chain or cash it out early. The tension comes from hoping for misses, which is an odd feeling the first few times.

The reel where the Lion sits matters. Locked on one of the first three reels, it joins any short combination, so an early win and a low multiplier are likely. Locked on reel 4 or 5, it can only help longer combinations, and the first three reels must match by themselves, so empty respins tend to pile up.

It helps to see how quickly the numbers move. At a ₹20 stake, three of a kind of Premium 2 (2x) is worth ₹40 at x1, ₹320 at x8, ₹2,560 at x64 and ₹40,960 at x1,024. The same small symbol can be pocket change or a serious sum, and the only difference is how many empty respins came before it. That is why players who like this game talk about chains rather than about symbols.

Three buys and what they cost

Where offered, the bonus buy menu guarantees a Lion on a chosen reel group and jumps straight to respins. Prices from the demo server, converted at two stakes:

OptionPriceAt ₹20At ₹50
Lion on reel 1, 2 or 312x₹240₹600
Lion on reel 450x₹1,000₹2,500
Lion on reel 5200x₹4,000₹10,000

All three carry the same 96% return in the demo build. The higher price does not buy better value; it buys a wider spread. A reel 5 Lion tends to sit through more empty respins and reach bigger multipliers, but the payout still depends on whatever finally connects. The cheap 12x option is the quickest way to see many chains, most of them short.

Return and long-run maths

The RTP is 96%, both in normal play and across the three buys. Over ₹1,00,000 of total bets that implies roughly ₹96,000 returned in the long run, though any one evening can land far above or below. With BGaming's 6.00 hit rate, roughly a sixth of your spins return something, and the remaining five sixths end empty or with a Lion that starts a chain.

The top prize of 15,360x works out to ₹1,53,600 on a ₹10 stake and ₹3,07,200 on ₹20. Reaching it needs ten empty respins in a row followed by five top premiums on one way, so it is a theoretical roof, not a plan.

Practice routine and budget

Use the free demo to learn how chains feel before anything else; our demo guide covers the basics. Useful things to note:

  • How often the Lion lands and connects at once, versus how often it starts respins.
  • The multiplier each chain reaches. Write down ten chains from the 12x buy and ten from the 200x buy if the demo balance allows.
  • The RTP and stake limits on the rules screen.

For a rupee plan, a ₹4,000 budget at ₹20 gives 200 spins, enough for the Lion to land and miss several times. The same ₹4,000 covers about sixteen 12x buys at ₹20, or exactly one 200x buy. That last option ends the session in one click if it goes wrong, so it only makes sense at a stake where losing it is comfortable. Decide your stop points in advance, and when a long chain pays well, take it as the signal to finish.

For other one-feature games, Train to Rio Grande from the same studio builds its prize differently, and Book of Dead shows the classic expanding symbol inside free spins.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Golden Pride pay back (RTP)?

BGaming publishes 96%. The demo build uses that same figure for regular spins and for each of the three buy options. Check the rules screen of the version you open, as operators can install other settings.

What starts the respin round?

An expanded Lion Wild that fails to complete any winning way. It stays locked on its reel, the other reels respin, and the multiplier doubles after every empty respin until a win closes the chain.

How high can the respin multiplier go?

It starts at x1 and doubles on each respin without a win: x2, x4, x8 and onward to a maximum of x1,024. The first paying respin applies whatever value has been reached and ends the round.

How much do the buys cost in rupees?

The demo server lists 12x for a Lion on reels 1 to 3, 50x for reel 4 and 200x for reel 5. At a ₹20 stake that is ₹240, ₹1,000 and ₹4,000. Availability depends on the operator.

What is the maximum win?

The cap is 15,360x the stake, which equals the top 15x way pay multiplied by x1,024. On a ₹10 spin that would be ₹1,53,600, though reaching it requires a very long empty chain.

Are there free spins in Golden Pride?

No. The game has no free spins mode and no scatter symbol. Its only bonus is the respin chain that begins when the expanding Lion Wild does not form a win.

Is Golden Pride legal to play for money in India?

India's 2025 online gaming law, in force since 1 May 2026, bans offering online money games nationwide; challenges are pending in the Supreme Court and state rules also apply. The free demo uses virtual credits, for adults 18+.
