A quick word for players in the Philippines: real-money online gaming here falls under PAGCOR, and only adults 21 and above should play, on sites that carry a PAGCOR licence. Rules for online gaming are being reviewed, so verify the operator's licence before putting in any pesos. The demo on this page runs on play credits only.
Golden Pride at a glance
BGaming launched Golden Pride on 20 November 2024 as part of its Classic range. Picture an armoured King Lion, stone castle walls and a treasure room waiting to be emptied. Underneath the medieval dressing sits a simple 5x3 screen that pays on 243 ways. You do not pick lines. Any matching symbols on neighbouring reels, starting from the far left, count as a win no matter which row they occupy.
The studio lists a 96% return, a medium high risk rating, a hit rate of 6.00 and a top prize of 15,360 times your stake. There is no free spins round, no pick game and no collect symbol. Everything worth talking about comes from one icon, the Lion Wild, and the respin sequence it can set off.
What happens on each spin
Here is the order of events, from tapping spin to seeing the result:
- You set your stake. The demo bet menu goes from 0.20 to 16 credits, while the peso limits at a real site are set by the operator.
- Fifteen symbols drop into place across the five reels.
- The game checks every symbol that shows up on reels 1, 2 and 3. If it continues on reel 4, and then reel 5, the combination extends to four or five matching symbols.
- Every separate path through those positions is its own way. When one way could pay more than one combination, only the biggest is counted, and all paying ways are summed.
- If a Lion Wild lands, it stretches over its full reel. Then one of two things happens: it helps form a win, or it starts the respin round.
Paytable in pesos
Nine symbols carry a value. The figures below are multiples of your total bet for one way, and the last column shows what a five of a kind on one way returns on a ₱20 spin. If the same symbol connects on several ways, each way pays separately.
| Symbol | 3 matching | 4 matching | 5 matching | 5 matching on a ₱20 spin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Top premium | 2.50x | 6x | 15x | ₱300 |
| Premium 2 | 2x | 5x | 12x | ₱240 |
| Premium 3 | 1x | 3x | 6x | ₱120 |
| Premium 4 | 1x | 2.50x | 5x | ₱100 |
| Middle 1 | 0.50x | 1.25x | 1.75x | ₱35 |
| Middle 2 | 0.50x | 1x | 1.50x | ₱30 |
| Middle 3 | 0.50x | 0.75x | 1.25x | ₱25 |
| Two low symbols | 0.40x | 0.60x | 1x | ₱20 |
Look at the top row and the max win side by side. Fifteen times the bet on one way, scaled up by the x1,024 respin cap, gives exactly 15,360x. In other words, the paytable is just the starting point, and the respin chain is the engine that turns a normal hit into something serious.
What the Lion Wild does
The Lion may land on any reel, first to fifth, and stands in for every paying symbol. As soon as it lands, it grows to cover all three rows of that reel. That alone is powerful in a ways game. A reel made entirely of Wilds matches anything, so one matching symbol per remaining reel links up through all three positions at once, which works like a built-in multiplier on the number of paying ways.
From there, the outcome splits. When the expanded Lion connects to at least one paying combination, you collect and the spin is over. When it connects to nothing, the game does not throw it away. The Wild locks on its reel and the respin feature begins.
The respin chase, explained
With the Lion frozen in place, the remaining reels spin again. Each respin has its own multiplier, which begins at x1 and doubles after every respin that pays nothing. Count it out and you get eleven steps: x1 first, then x2, x4 and x8, on through x256 and x512, until the progress bar tops out at x1,024. The first respin that lands a win closes the round, and that win is paid at whatever multiplier the ladder has reached.
This creates a funny kind of suspense. Hit something on the first respin and you walk away with a modest x1 payout. Miss again and again and the multiplier balloons, yet the win that finally ends it could be a single way of a low symbol. You have no button to cash out early and no say in when the chain stops.
Where the Lion sits makes a big difference. On reel 1, 2 or 3 it is part of every three of a kind, so almost any pair on the other early reels ends the chain quickly. On reel 4 or 5 it only joins longer combinations, which means reels 1 to 3 must line up without its help first. Expect longer chains, and bigger multipliers, from a Lion on the right side of the screen.
A worked peso example
Say you are playing ₱20 a spin. A Lion lands on reel 2 and nothing pays, so respins start.
- Respins one to five all miss, at x1, x2, x4, x8 and x16.
- The sixth respin hits at x32: one way of Premium 2 three of a kind, worth 2x the bet, so ₱40 before the multiplier.
- ₱40 times 32 equals ₱1,280, which is 64 times your stake.
Now imagine the same ₱40 hit arrives two respins later, at x128. That pays ₱5,120. And if the chain went all the way to x1,024 and finished on five top premiums on one way, ₱300 times 1,024 would give ₱307,200, the 15,360x ceiling on a ₱20 bet. That last case is the theoretical top, not a target to play for.
The three feature buys
Where the operator permits it, Golden Pride has three bonus buy options. Each one places a Lion Wild on a reel group you choose and takes you straight into the respin round. Prices below are from the demo server and shown for a ₱20 stake.
| Buy | Price | At ₱20 | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lion on reels 1 to 3 | 12x | ₱240 | Easy to connect, so chains are usually short |
| Lion on reel 4 | 50x | ₱1,000 | Reels 1 to 3 must match by themselves |
| Lion on reel 5 | 200x | ₱4,000 | Only helps five of a kind, so chains tend to stretch |
The pricing makes sense once you think about how ways pay. An early Lion makes a three of a kind very likely, so the round often ends with a small multiplier. A Lion on reel 5 is useful only when reels 1 to 4 already agree, so misses pile up and the ladder climbs higher. Because all three buys run at 96% in the demo build, a pricier option is not better value. It simply trades frequent small results for rare large ones.
RTP and risk level
BGaming states 96.00% for the base game and for every buy in the demo build. On its scale the volatility is medium high, a step below the very high label that many recent releases carry. A hit rate of 6.00 means roughly one paid spin in every six. Before playing for real, open the rules screen and confirm the RTP the operator has loaded; our RTP guide explains why one title can exist in more than one version.
Similar games worth a look
If one oversized multiplier is what draws you in, BGaming's Train to Rio Grande builds its prize around a safe code. If you would rather see an expanding symbol inside a free spins round, Book of Dead is the familiar benchmark. Golden Pride lands somewhere in between. There are no free spins, but a missed Wild gets a second life instead of disappearing.
Peso budgeting tips
Most of what this slot pays back is locked inside respin chains, and a chain needs the Lion to appear and fail to connect. On BGaming's hit rate, about five spins in six return nothing at all. Build your session around that rhythm:
- At ₱10 a spin, a ₱2,000 budget covers 200 spins. That is enough time for the Lion to show up several times and, hopefully, miss.
- The 12x buy costs ₱120 at that stake, so the same ₱2,000 pays for about 16 guaranteed respin rounds. You see the feature often, but most chains stay short.
- The 200x option costs ₱2,000 at ₱10, your whole budget on one round. Only consider it at a stake where losing it will not end your night.
- Decide on a stop loss and a profit goal before the first spin, and walk away after a strong chain rather than chasing the next one.
Trying it for free
The demo on this page is BGaming's official fun version. A few things worth checking there:
- How often the Lion lands, and how often it pays straight away instead of starting respins.
- Which multiplier a dozen 12x buys reach, compared with a handful of 200x buys if your play balance allows.
- The RTP and bet limits listed in the rules.
Our demo guide covers the rest. Whatever you choose, the long-run return stays at 96%; the buy you pick and the stake you set only change how sharply the balance moves.
Where Golden Pride can be played for real pesos
Questions Filipino players ask
What RTP does Golden Pride have?
BGaming publishes 96.00%. In the demo build the base game and all three feature buys share that 96% figure. Operators can load a different version, so read the rules screen before you stake any pesos.
How do the Golden Pride respins work?
When the expanded Lion Wild fails to form a win, the Lion holds its position while everything else respins. Each empty respin doubles the multiplier, beginning from x1, and it can go no higher than x1,024. The first paying respin ends the round at that multiplier.
What is the biggest possible win?
15,360 times your bet, which is the 15x top premium on one way multiplied by the x1,024 respin cap. On a ₱20 spin that works out to ₱307,200.
How much do the feature buys cost?
Three prices exist: 12x when the Lion goes on one of the first three reels, 50x for reel 4 and 200x for the last reel. At ₱20 per spin that is ₱240, ₱1,000 or ₱4,000. Not every operator offers them.
Are there free spins in Golden Pride?
No, a free spins round is not part of this slot. Its only feature is the respin sequence that begins when the expanding Lion Wild lands without completing a win.
How many ways to win are there?
Golden Pride pays on 243 ways across five reels and three rows. Matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left pay in any row, and each way is valued as a multiple of your bet.
Can I play Golden Pride for real money in the Philippines?
Real-money play is regulated by PAGCOR and open only to players aged 21 and up on PAGCOR-licensed platforms. The online gaming rules are under review, so check an operator's licence first. The demo here uses free credits.
