Merge Up 2 at a glance
BGaming released Merge Up 2 on 28 October 2025 as the sequel to its original Merge Up. The concept comes from the merge puzzles many of us play on the phone during a commute: a winning group does not just vanish, a portion of it is promoted to the following symbol level. Keep a chain alive and the board climbs from the cheapest pastel sweet towards the top tier, then into a bomb.
The board is six by six, and wins come from clusters of four or more identical symbols linked horizontally or vertically. BGaming rates the game very high volatility and caps any round at 10,000x the bet. The big change from the first game is that cell multipliers and bombs now operate in the base game too.
Before rupee examples, the legal backdrop. Since 1 May 2026, India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 has prohibited offering, promoting and facilitating payments for online money games throughout the country. Challenges to the Act are pending in the Supreme Court, and state rules apply alongside it. Any real-money play is limited to adults aged 18 and above, and the demo on this page runs on virtual credits. We never suggest VPNs or any way to get around blocks.
Following one spin from tap to payout
- Choose your bet. Bet levels on the demo server span 0.25 to 25 credits; your rupee range depends on the operator.
- Thirty-six symbols fill the grid, and any four or more identical symbols that touch form a cluster.
- Each cluster pays. Some of its symbols then disappear, and the rest upgrade to the next level.
- Each position used by that win gets a mark. If that marked cell is part of a later win, it gains x2.
- Gaps refill from above, the familiar tumble, and the check runs again.
- A level 8 cluster creates a bomb. It clears the 8 symbols surrounding it, nudges each of those cells one multiplier step up and then becomes a scatter.
- When nothing more connects, the spin is over. Outside free spins the board then forgets all marks and multipliers.
Timing is the detail most people miss. A multiplier a cell has just earned does not boost the win that earned it; it only counts from the next cluster through that cell. And when one cluster crosses several multiplier cells, their values are summed.
The eight-level ladder and its paytable in rupees
Paying symbols run from level 1 to level 8, and the progression bar above the grid shows the order. What a cluster pays is set by its level together with the number of symbols in it. The table shows selected sizes in rupees at a ₹100 bet, taken from the demo server's paytable; divide by 100 to get the multiple of your bet.
| Level | 4 symbols | 7 symbols | 9 symbols | 11 symbols | 12 or more |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Level 8 | ₹80 | ₹240 | ₹800 | ₹1,600 | ₹8,000 |
| Level 7 | ₹64 | ₹160 | ₹640 | ₹1,200 | ₹3,200 |
| Level 6 | ₹48 | ₹120 | ₹480 | ₹800 | ₹2,400 |
| Level 5 | ₹40 | ₹80 | ₹400 | ₹640 | ₹2,000 |
| Level 4 | ₹32 | ₹64 | ₹320 | ₹480 | ₹1,600 |
| Level 3 | ₹24 | ₹48 | ₹240 | ₹400 | ₹1,200 |
| Level 2 | ₹16 | ₹40 | ₹160 | ₹320 | ₹800 |
| Level 1 | ₹8 | ₹32 | ₹80 | ₹240 | ₹400 |
Two patterns are worth knowing. Small clusters pay very little: four level 1 symbols on a ₹100 bet return just ₹8, so a chain earns its keep through the upgrades and marks it leaves on the board. And the jump from 8 to 9 symbols is steep; a level 1 group of nine pays twice what eight pay. Even at a smaller ₹20 stake, a seven-symbol level 1 cluster pays only ₹6.40.
How cell multipliers build up
Cell multipliers drive this slot, much as the marked spots do in Sugar Rush. A cell is marked the first time it hosts a winning symbol. A second win on that cell sets x2, and from there each new win doubles the value, through x4, x8 and so on, until the cell hits x128, its limit.
Because values inside one cluster add up, a group crossing x2, x8 and x16 cells is paid at x26. Bombs speed everything along, since every cell a blast clears moves one step up without needing a win of its own. Our multipliers guide compares added and multiplied boosts if you want the wider picture.
Bombs and where scatters come from
There is only one route to a bomb: a winning cluster of level 8 symbols. The bomb then wipes out the eight symbols around it, new symbols drop into the gap, and each affected cell climbs a multiplier step, so a x4 becomes x8. Finally the bomb itself turns into a scatter.
So scatters are partly earned. Some land on their own, but every bomb also leaves one behind. The count at the end of a spin decides the bonus:
- 3 scatters: 12 free spins
- 4 scatters: 15 free spins
- 5 scatters: 20 free spins
- 6 or more: 30 free spins
Free spins with a worked ₹50 example
The free spins follow the same rules with one crucial change: marks and multipliers are kept for the entire round rather than cleared after each spin. Any free spin showing three scatters or more adds 5 spins to the count.
Say you are playing at ₹50 and earlier spins have left three neighbouring cells at x4, x16 and x2. A level 5 cluster of eight symbols runs across all three. Its base value is 1.2x, or ₹60. The multipliers add up to x22, so the cluster pays ₹1,320. Those three cells now double to x8, x32 and x4.
A few spins later a level 7 cluster of seven passes over just the x8 and x32 cells. Its base pay is 1.6x, or ₹80, and the combined x40 turns that into ₹3,200. If a bomb had gone off beside those cells first, they would already stand at x16 and x64, and the same cluster would pay ₹6,400. Spread that compounding over 12 to 30 spins and you can see how the 10,000x ceiling, ₹5,00,000 at this stake, becomes reachable.
Three buys and Chance x2 in rupees
Where the casino permits it, three bonus buys are on offer. Prices come from the demo server and are shown here at a ₹50 bet.
| Option | Multiple | At ₹50 | What it starts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bonus game 1 | 100x | ₹5,000 | Regular free spins, no extras |
| Bonus game 2 | 250x | ₹12,500 | Free spins with every one of the 36 cells already at x2 |
| Bonus game 3 | 500x | ₹25,000 | Free spins opening with 3 to 9 bomb blasts whose multipliers stay on the board |
Bonus game 2 means your opening wins are boosted straight away. Bonus game 3 is the wildest: both the number of bombs and the cells they upgrade are random.
For players who like an ante style boost, there is Chance x2. It adds 20% to the stake, so ₹50 becomes ₹60, and raises the chance of triggering the bonus. It cannot be combined with a buy. On the demo server every mode returns 98%, so the choice shifts your risk profile rather than the long-run rate.
RTP builds and the long-run picture
BGaming's game page shows 97%, while the demo build returns 98% for regular spins, all three buys and Chance x2. More than one version clearly exists, so the line in your casino's rules screen is the figure that matters. Over ₹1,00,000 wagered, 97% means about ₹97,000 back in theory and 98% about ₹98,000. That gap of ₹1,000 only shows up over thousands of spins; in one evening anything can happen. Our RTP guide explains why the setting still matters.
BGaming also gives a hit rate figure of 3.40, which works out at a win on about two spins in seven. The 10,000x cap, or ₹10,00,000 on a ₹100 bet, has odds of one in ten million according to the demo math block, so see it as a limit, not a plan.
Who Merge Up 2 suits
This is a slot for players who enjoy watching a board develop. Even a small cluster changes the grid, upgrades symbols and marks cells that may matter on the next drop. If you prefer flat, predictable rounds, the very high volatility rating is a warning: plenty of spins return a few rupees or nothing, and the big moments depend on multipliers stacking in the same few cells.
It also asks for patience, which can clash with short mobile sessions. A budget sized for 50 spins can easily end before a single bonus. If you play in short bursts on your phone, keep the stake small enough that one sitting still covers a meaningful number of spins.
Demo practice and bankroll tips
Play the free demo first to feel the rhythm. Our demo guide covers the general checks; for this game, try these:
- Open the rules and find the RTP line. A figure below 97% means a different build.
- During long chains, keep an eye on the progression bar and count the level 8 clusters and bombs you really see.
- Run 100 spins with Chance x2 and 100 without, and compare how fast the balance moves.
- Budget at least 100 to 200 bets per session; at ₹20 a spin that means ₹2,000 to ₹4,000 set aside.
- Decide your stop-loss before the first spin and hold to it.

Frequently asked questions
What RTP does Merge Up 2 have?
BGaming's game page lists 97%, and the demo build runs at 98% for regular spins, every buy and Chance x2. Casinos can install different versions, so read the RTP line in the rules wherever you open the game.
How many free spins can Merge Up 2 award?
Three scatters give 12 spins and four give 15. Five scatters mean 20 spins, and a set of six or more brings 30. Inside the round, three or more scatters on one spin add 5 spins, and all marks and multipliers stay until the bonus ends.
How do cell multipliers grow?
A cell is marked on its first win. A second win on that cell sets x2, after which every new win doubles it until it reaches x128. Values within one cluster are added, and a fresh value only counts from the following win.
What do the bonus buys cost at ₹100?
Bonus game 1 costs ₹10,000 (100x), bonus game 2 with x2 on every cell costs ₹25,000 (250x), and bonus game 3 with 3 to 9 opening bombs costs ₹50,000 (500x). Availability depends on the casino.
What is the maximum win?
10,000 times the bet, so ₹10,00,000 at ₹100. The demo math puts the odds at one in ten million spins, so it is a limit, not a target.
What does Chance x2 change?
It adds 20% to your stake, so a ₹50 spin costs ₹60, and raises the chance of triggering free spins. You cannot use it together with a bonus buy. The demo server lists the same 98% RTP for it as for the base game.
Is Merge Up 2 available for real money in India?
India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 has prohibited offering online money games nationwide since 1 May 2026, with petitions pending in the Supreme Court and state rules also in play. Our demo runs on virtual credits, and real-money play anywhere is 18+ only.
