Bottom line

This is a slot for players who enjoy watching a board change shape. The 96.50% default return is solid, the princess powers keep dead spins interesting, and a cleared board can snowball into a big free spins run. The catch is how rarely that full clear happens, so check the RTP line in the rules and budget for patience.

Plus points
  • Strong 96.50% return in the default build
  • Multiplier stays between free spins, ceiling x20
  • Three free spins packages to choose from: 4, 5 or 8 spins
  • Princess powers can rescue a spin with no win
Watch out for
  • Reaching free spins means emptying all 25 cells
  • Lowest RTP build sits at 84.50%
  • No way to buy the feature directly

Meet the game

Play'n GO launched Moon Princess on 26 July 2017. Love, Star and Storm are the three heroines, drawn in a bright anime style against a starry sky, and the Moon itself is the wild. Instead of spinning reels you watch a 5x5 board fill with 25 symbols.

Wins follow one simple rule: a straight row or column of at least three matching symbols, up to five. All directions are live at the same moment, so one symbol can count twice when a row and a column cross. Our explainer on lines, ways and grid pays compares this with classic reels.

Provider figures in short: 96.50% default return, top prize of 5,000 times the bet, standard bets from 0.20 to 100 in base units. Peso limits are listed in the rules of the site you use.

From first drop to last: the spin cycle

Every paid spin follows the same loop. You choose a total bet; the game quietly spreads it across 20 coins you never see. The board fills, and the game looks for straight lines of three or more. Paid symbols burst, everything above them falls, and new symbols tumble in from the top. If that creates another line, the loop runs again.

Each new fall raises a running multiplier, and every win from that fall is boosted by it. A tumble chain of five or six falls can therefore pay far more than its first line suggests. When the chain ends in the base game, the multiplier returns to its starting value for the next spin.

Two extras ride on the cycle. When a three-in-a-line win disappears, the Moon wild can pop up exactly where the centre symbol of that line stood. And when a spin produces nothing at all, the princess displayed on the right side may act.

What each symbol pays

The provider lists payouts for a stake of 1.00, so read them as multiples of your bet. For a quick peso view, the right column applies them to a ₱50 spin:

SymbolThreeFourFiveFive at ₱50
Moon (wild)1x3x50x₱2,500
A single princess0.30x1x10x₱500
Princesses mixed together0.20x0.50x5x₱250
Upper pair of items0.15x0.30x3x₱150
Lower pair of items0.10x0.20x2x₱100

Notice how steep the jump from four to five is. Four of one princess pays your stake back once; five pays it ten times over. Three low items on a ₱50 spin give only ₱5. The game is built around long chains and five-symbol lines, not around single short hits.

Girl Power on spins with no win

Each heroine changes the board in her own way when she acts:

  • Love picks a set of symbols and turns them into another symbol, which can line up a fresh win.
  • Star places a single wild, or two, on the board.
  • Storm wipes out two sets of symbols so new ones can fall.

The Moon also has a hidden job. If the only things left on the board are wilds, they get cleared too. That is a big help toward the empty board you need for free spins.

The Princess Trinity bonus round

A three-part meter fills only from princess wins (the wild can be part of them). A line of three princesses lights one part, four lights two and five lights all three. When it is full and nothing else pays, you get a single bonus round with the multiplier back at its start. In it, Love, Star and Storm take turns in a fixed order: each time a fall brings no new win, the next one acts. When all three have had their turn and no wins are left, the round is paid out and the board returns to the princess you had before.

Free spins: pick your princess

Clear every one of the 25 cells and you choose a heroine for the free spins. She sets the length of the round and her power then fires on every spin that misses:

PrincessSpins at the startSpins added when the meter fills
Storm82
Star53
Love44

What makes the round special is that the multiplier no longer resets between spins; it can keep rising to x20. A round can be stretched to 20 spins at most, the Trinity bonus does not run inside it, and emptying the board again pays a flat 100 times your bet on the spot.

Sample round on a ₱50 bet

You clear the board on a ₱50 spin and take Star, so five spins and a wild drop on every miss.

  • First spin misses. Star adds wilds, and a new line of four mixed princesses forms with the multiplier at x2: ₱25 x 2 = ₱50.
  • Third spin. The multiplier has grown to x10, and five matching Love symbols run down a column: ₱500 x 10 = ₱5,000. Five princesses fill the meter, so Star gives three extra spins.
  • Seventh spin. With the multiplier pinned at x20, a line of three items from the upper pair pays ₱7.50 x 20 = ₱150, and the board ends up empty: another ₱5,000 for the clear.

The multiplier values here are only examples, because the real ones depend on how many falls each spin produces. The provider's ceiling is 5,000 times the bet, or ₱250,000 on a ₱50 stake.

RTP choices and the risk level

There are five return settings. The default is 96.50%, with alternatives at 84.50%, 87.50%, 91.49% and 94.51%, and the bottom three are not offered by Malta-licensed operators. Put simply, every ₱1,000 wagered over a long period returns around ₱965 in the default build and around ₱845 in the weakest one. Find the figure in the rules screen; the RTP guide shows where.

Play'n GO's first rules sheet placed the game at the maximum of its old ten-point risk scale, and its current scale gives it a 6. Expect plenty of small results with a few big rounds in between. The chance of hitting the 5,000x ceiling is below one in a billion spins. There is no bonus buy option.

How it compares with other grid slots

Grid games share the idea of falling symbols, but they reward you in different ways. Sugar Rush from Pragmatic Play uses a bigger 7x7 board, pays clusters of five or more touching sweets and stores multipliers on the cells where wins happen. Moon Princess asks for straight lines instead, keeps one running multiplier for the whole chain and adds princess powers on top. It also has no bonus buy, while Sugar Rush lets players purchase its feature.

The practical difference: in Moon Princess the length of a chain is what grows a win, so a long cascade early in free spins is worth more than a single big line later. Players who like to read the board and follow each fall tend to enjoy that. For a broader look at how risky these designs feel, our volatility guide explains the scale providers use.

Try it free first

The demo above is Play'n GO's own practice build. A short checklist for your first session:

  • Track how many spins pass between full clears.
  • See which princess appears on the right most often and what her power does to dead spins.
  • Watch where the multiplier stands at the end of long chains.
  • Read the RTP and peso bet limits in the rules.

Keep your stake at a level where several hundred spins fit in your budget, and decide your stopping point before the first spin.

Questions Filipino players ask

What is Moon Princess's RTP?

96.50% in the default build. Casinos may instead run a lower version, the weakest being 84.50%. The rules screen inside the game shows the one in use, so check it before playing with pesos.

How do I get free spins?

Empty all 25 cells of the board. When only wilds remain, they disappear as well. Then choose Storm for 8 spins, Star for 5 or Love for 4.

Does the multiplier reset?

In the base game, yes: it climbs during a chain of falls and resets after the spin. During free spins it keeps its value between spins, up to a limit of x20.

What is the biggest possible win?

Play'n GO caps Moon Princess at 5,000 times the bet, which is ₱250,000 on a ₱50 spin. The chance of reaching it is below one in a billion spins.

Which princess should I choose in free spins?

There is no guaranteed best pick. Storm gives the most starting spins, Love adds the most spins when the meter fills and Star adds wilds on every miss. Try all three in the demo.

Can I buy the feature?

No. The only route into free spins is clearing the board. Inside the round, filling the princess meter adds more spins, up to 20 in total.

Is real money play allowed in the Philippines?

Only on PAGCOR licensed platforms and only for adults aged 21 and over. Online gaming rules are under review, so confirm a site's licence first. The demo on this page uses play credits.
