Moon Princess in brief
Moon Princess came out on 26 July 2017 and sits in Play'n GO's grid slot range. Three anime-style heroines, Love, Star and Storm, run the show. Each is a premium symbol, and each owns a power that can rearrange the board when a spin goes nowhere.
Forget reels and lines here. You get a square of 5x5 cells, and any straight row or column of three or more identical symbols pays. All rows and columns count together, so a single symbol can sit inside two wins. If the difference between lines, ways and grids is new to you, our pay systems guide sets it out.
The headline numbers from the provider: 96.50% default return, a cap of 5,000 times the stake and a standard bet range of 0.20 to 100 in base currency units. The rupee limits on any site appear in its rules screen.
A legal note for readers in India: the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act of 2025, in force since 1 May 2026, prohibits offering online money games in the country. The free demo on this page uses virtual credits only. Real money gaming is strictly 18+.
How one spin plays out on the 5x5 grid
- Pick a total bet. The game handles coins for you: 20 fixed coins sit behind every bet, and you never adjust them.
- 25 symbols fall in. The board fills from the top.
- Rows and columns are scanned. Three, four or five matching symbols in a straight line pay, and overlaps all count.
- Winners vanish. Paid symbols are removed, the remaining ones slide down and fresh symbols fill the gaps from above. That is a cascade, and it repeats while wins keep forming.
- The meter climbs. Every new drop pushes the win multiplier higher, so the fifth win in a chain is worth more than the first.
- The Moon can appear. Each time a win of exactly three symbols is cleared, the wild may take over the cell its middle symbol occupied.
- Dead spin? The princess on the right may step in with her power.
Once a base game spin finishes, the multiplier drops back to its starting point. Free spins work differently, as you will see below.
Paytable in rupees
Play'n GO's rules sheet prices every combination for a 1.00 bet, so each figure is a multiple of the total stake. The last column shows a five-in-a-row hit on a ₹100 spin before any multiplier:
| Symbol | 5 in line | 4 in line | 3 in line | 5 on a ₹100 spin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moon wild | 50x | 3x | 1x | ₹5,000 |
| Love, Star or Storm (same princess) | 10x | 1x | 0.30x | ₹1,000 |
| Mixed princesses | 5x | 0.50x | 0.20x | ₹500 |
| Higher two item symbols | 3x | 0.30x | 0.15x | ₹300 |
| Lower two item symbols | 2x | 0.20x | 0.10x | ₹200 |
On a ₹100 bet, three low items return just ₹10 and three of one princess ₹30. Single short wins barely move a balance; long cascades and five-symbol lines do. Note the mixed princess row: Love, Star and Storm side by side still pay ₹20 for three, even though the symbols differ.
Drops, the multiplier meter and the Moon
A counter at the left edge of the game screen tracks the multiplier. Every win in a drop is multiplied by its current value, and each fresh drop lifts it. Play'n GO does not publish how big each step is, so the demo is the place to watch it move.
The Moon wild replaces any symbol, but it only ever lands where the middle of a removed three-symbol win used to be. One extra rule changes a lot: if nothing but wilds is left on the board, those wilds are removed as well. That rule exists to get you to an empty grid, the only door into the bonus.
Love, Star and Storm: the three powers
When a spin pays nothing, the princess currently shown on the right may use her ability:
- Love converts one group of symbols into a different symbol.
- Star drops a wild or two onto the board.
- Storm blasts away two groups of symbols.
There is also the Princess Trinity meter with three sections. Only princess wins charge it, and the Moon can help form those wins. A three-symbol princess win adds one section, four adds two, five fills the lot. With the meter full and the chain finished, you receive one free round with a fresh multiplier, in which the three princesses act one after another every time a drop brings no new win. The order never changes, and the round ends once all three powers have been used and no wins remain.
The free spins choice
Empty all 25 cells and the free spins begin with a choice. Your princess decides the starting spins, the top-up when the meter fills again and the power that fires on every losing spin:
| Choice | Opening spins | Top-up per full meter | Power used on each dead spin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Love | 4 | +4 | Turns a group into another symbol |
| Star | 5 | +3 | Places one or two extra wilds |
| Storm | 8 | +2 | Removes two groups |
Inside the round the multiplier keeps its value between spins instead of resetting, up to a ceiling of x20. The round can grow to 20 spins at most. The Trinity re-spin is off during free spins, but emptying the board again pays an instant 100x the total bet. Storm gives the longest start; Love refills best; Star sits in the middle and helps every spin with extra wilds.
A ₹100 free spins round worked through
Say you bet ₹100, clear the board and choose Love for four opening spins.
- Spin one. Three Storm symbols in a column with the meter at x3: ₹30 x 3 = ₹90.
- Spin two. A row of five Star symbols with the meter at x7: ₹1,000 x 7 = ₹7,000. It is a princess win of five, so the Trinity meter fills and Love adds four more spins.
- A later spin. The meter has reached its x20 limit and four Moon wilds line up: ₹300 x 20 = ₹6,000. If that drop leaves the board empty, add ₹10,000 for the clear-grid prize.
The multiplier values here are examples; what you actually get depends on how many drops each spin produces. Whatever happens, the provider stops a round at 5,000 times the stake, which is ₹5,00,000 on a ₹100 bet.
Which RTP build is your casino running?
Play'n GO supplies five versions, from lowest to highest: 84.50%, 87.50%, 91.49%, 94.51% and the default 96.50%. The bottom three are not allowed for Malta-licensed operators. The gap is real. Across a long run of ₹100 spins, the top build gives back about ₹96.50 per spin on average and the lowest about ₹84.50. Our RTP guide explains how to find the figure in the rules screen.
On volatility, Play'n GO's original 2017 sheet rated the game at the very top of its old ten-point scale, while the newer sheet scores it 6 on Play'n GO's current scale. Either way, expect many small chains and a few much bigger rounds. The provider says fewer than one spin in a billion should reach the full 5,000x. There is no bonus buy.
Practising in the demo and handling your bankroll
The practice version on this page comes from Play'n GO and runs on play money. Use it to answer a few questions before anything else:
- How many spins does it take you to empty the board once?
- How fast does the meter rise within one cascade, and when does it reset?
- Which princess power fires most often on dead spins, and does it rescue them?
- What RTP and bet limits does the rules screen show?
Our free demo guide covers the general routine. Since the big money sits behind a full clear, size your stake so a few hundred spins fit in the balance, keep it flat and set a stop point first. If you prefer games where the bonus can be bought outright, this is not one of them; patience is the price of entry here, and a session budget written down before the first spin keeps that patience affordable.

Frequently asked questions
What RTP does Moon Princess pay?
The default version returns 96.50%. Lower builds also exist, the weakest at 84.50% and the next at 87.50%, and the operator decides which one goes live. The rules screen of the game shows which one you are playing.
How are free spins triggered in Moon Princess?
By removing all 25 symbols from the board. Wilds left on their own are cleared automatically, which helps. Next comes a choice: Storm gives 8 opening spins, Star 5 and Love 4.
How big can the multiplier get?
It rises with every drop in a cascade. In the base game it resets after each spin, while in free spins it carries over and can climb to x20.
What do Love, Star and Storm do?
Love changes one group of symbols into another symbol, Star places a wild or two and Storm removes two groups. In free spins your chosen princess acts on every spin without a win.
What is the top win in Moon Princess?
The cap is 5,000 times the stake, which would be ₹5,00,000 on a ₹100 spin. Play'n GO puts the chance of reaching it at under one in a billion spins.
Is there a bonus buy?
No. Free spins come only from clearing the whole board. Filling the princess meter during the round adds spins, up to a total of 20.
Can I play Moon Princess for real money in India?
