What Starlight Princess 1000 is
Pragmatic Play released Starlight Princess 1000 on October 26, 2023, as part of its 1000 series of upgraded hits. The setting is the same sky castle, the Princess still floats beside the reels, and colored gems fill a grid of six reels and five rows. Under that artwork the engine is the one you already know from the original: 8 or more matching symbols anywhere pay, winners tumble away, and winged multiplier symbols add together before they multiply a sequence.
The headline change sits in the multiplier range. A multiplier symbol can now land with a value of up to x1000, and the maximum win grows to 15,000x your bet. Pragmatic's rules screen carries its standard high volatility note, so this is a game for patient bankrolls, not for steady small returns.
What changed versus Starlight Princess
If you have played the original Starlight Princess, the comparison is short. We pulled both games from Pragmatic's own demo server and lined up the numbers:
| Feature | Starlight Princess (2021) | Starlight Princess 1000 (2023) |
|---|---|---|
| Multiplier range | x2 to x500 | x2 to x1000 |
| Max win | 5,000x | 15,000x |
| RTP | 96.50% | 96.50% (96.49% with bonus buy) |
| Paytable and scatter pays | Same values | Same values |
| Free spins | 15 from 4+ scatters | 15 from 4+ scatters |
| Retrigger in the rules | Not stated in the published materials we checked | 5 extra spins for 3+ scatters |
| Ante Bet / bonus buy | +25% / 100x | +25% / 100x |
So the frame is identical and the paytable did not move by a single coin. What you get is a longer tail: the same small and mid wins most of the time, and a far higher roof in the rare rounds where a big multiplier meets a decent tumble chain.
How a spin works step by step
- Set the stake. A spin costs 20 coins, so your total bet is twenty times the coin value. Ante Bet raises it to 25 coins.
- Thirty symbols land on the 6x5 grid.
- Symbols are counted. The game uses scatter pays: 8 or more copies of a symbol anywhere on the grid form a win, with no lines or adjacency involved.
- Winners tumble. Paid symbols disappear, the rest drop and new ones fall in. Each tumble can create a fresh win, and there is no limit on how many follow.
- Multipliers wait. Any multiplier symbol that lands stays on the grid until the chain ends.
- The sequence is paid. All wins from the chain are totaled, every multiplier on screen is added together, and the sum multiplies that total.
All base game wins reach your balance only after the last tumble of the spin. A multiplier on a spin with no win does nothing, so the base game needs a paying chain and a multiplier in the same sequence.
Symbols and paytable
There are nine regular symbols and the Starlight Princess scatter. Pay depends only on how many copies of a symbol are on the grid. The demo server publishes the payouts per symbol rank; converted into multiples of your total bet they read as follows.
| Symbol rank | 8 to 9 | 10 to 11 | 12 or more |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (top) | 10x | 25x | 50x |
| 2 | 2.5x | 10x | 25x |
| 3 | 2x | 5x | 15x |
| 4 | 1.5x | 2x | 12x |
| 5 | 1x | 1.5x | 10x |
| 6 | 0.8x | 1.2x | 8x |
| 7 | 0.5x | 1x | 5x |
| 8 | 0.4x | 0.9x | 4x |
| 9 (lowest) | 0.25x | 0.75x | 2x |
The scatter pays on its own as well: 3x for four, 5x for five and 100x for six or more. The step from eleven to twelve copies is the one to watch. The fourth ranked symbol jumps from 2x to 12x with one extra copy, which is why long tumble chains on a crowded grid matter so much.
Multiplier symbols up to x1000
Multiplier symbols can land on any spin or tumble, in the base game and in free spins. Each takes one of sixteen values: x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x8, x10, x12, x15, x20, x25, x50, x100, x250, x500 or x1000. Our multipliers guide covers the general types; this one is additive, so a x10 and a x5 make x15.
Worked example at a 1.00 total bet: the first drop lands twelve copies of the third ranked symbol for 15.00. A tumble follows and adds eight of the seventh ranked symbol for 0.50. During the chain a x100 and a x8 land. The sequence totals 15.50, the multipliers add to x108, and the spin pays 1,674.00. Without the multipliers that same chain would have paid 15.50.
In the base game nothing carries over. The next spin starts with no multiplier at all.
Free spins and the running total
Four or more scatters anywhere award 15 free spins, played on special reels. Three or more scatters during the round add 5 more spins. The key rule: whenever a multiplier symbol lands and the spin produces a win, its value is added to a total multiplier for the round, and that total multiplies the win. The total only grows.
Worked example at a 1.00 bet:
- Spin 3: a chain pays 3.00 and a x25 lands. The total becomes x25, so the chain pays 75.00.
- Spin 8: a chain pays 1.50 with a x10 and a x5. The total rises to x40, and the chain pays 60.00.
- Spin 13: a chain pays 5.00 and a x250 lands. The total jumps to x290, and that chain alone pays 1,450.00.
Two details matter here. A multiplier that lands on a non winning spin is not added to the total. And a winning chain with no new multiplier pays at its raw value, however high the total has climbed. The round's best moments therefore come when a new multiplier arrives late, on top of an already large total. The whole free spins win is paid once the round ends.
Ante Bet and bonus buy
The Ante Bet lifts the bet from 20 to 25 coins, a 25% increase, and the rules say it doubles your chance of triggering free spins naturally by placing more scatters on the reels. At a 1.00 base stake you pay 1.25 per spin. With Ante Bet on, the buy option is switched off.
The bonus buy costs 100x your total bet, where the jurisdiction allows it, and guarantees four scatters on the triggering spin. The demo server lists 96.49% RTP for purchased rounds against 96.50% for regular and ante play, so buying costs a hundredth of a point in return and changes only the variance. At a 1.00 bet each buy costs 100.00, and individual rounds land far above or below that price.
RTP, volatility and max win
The official RTP is 96.50%. Pragmatic labels the game high volatility, which matches how the money is distributed: small base pays, a modest paytable top end and most of the value concentrated in multiplier hits during free spins.
The cap is 15,000x your bet. With Ante Bet active the rules express it as 12,000x of the raised stake, which is the same cash amount. If a round reaches the cap it ends at once and the remaining spins are forfeited. Pragmatic's demo server gives the chance of hitting the maximum as about 1 in 2.75 million spins, so treat the number as a ceiling, not a target. If you like this kind of game, Gates of Olympus 1000 uses the same 15,000x cap and x1000 range in a Greek setting, while Sweet Bonanza 1000 applies the 1000 treatment to a candy grid.
How to test it in the free demo
The demo above loads directly from Pragmatic's demo server, so the rules and paytable match the real game. A practical plan:
- Play 200 or more spins at one stake and note how often a multiplier lands on a paying chain in the base game.
- Run a similar stretch with Ante Bet on and compare how often the bonus arrives.
- Buy a few rounds in demo mode to see how far the results swing around the 100x price.
- Open the rules screen and read the RTP line, the bet limits and the max win wording. Operators can run other builds, and the rules show the one you are actually playing.
Size your stake so the bankroll survives several hundred spins. Most sessions on a game like this end without a standout hit, and that is normal.

Frequently asked questions
What is the RTP of Starlight Princess 1000?
The official RTP is 96.50%. Pragmatic's demo server lists 96.50% for regular play and Ante Bet, and 96.49% for the bonus buy. Operators may offer other builds, so check the RTP line in the rules screen of the game you open.
What is the max win in Starlight Princess 1000?
The maximum win is 15,000x your bet, three times the cap of the original. With Ante Bet active the rules show it as 12,000x of the raised stake, the same cash amount. A round that reaches the cap ends immediately.
How is Starlight Princess 1000 different from Starlight Princess?
The grid, paytable, scatter pays and 15 free spins are the same. Multipliers now run from x2 to x1000 instead of x2 to x500, and the max win rises from 5,000x to 15,000x. The bonus buy RTP is 96.49% instead of 96.50%.
How do you trigger free spins?
Land four or more scatters anywhere on the grid to win 15 free spins. Three or more scatters during the round add 5 more. Scatters also pay 3x for four, 5x for five and 100x for six or more.
How do multipliers work in the free spins?
When a multiplier symbol lands on a winning spin, its value joins a running total that lasts for the round, and the total multiplies that win. A multiplier on a losing spin is not added, and a win with no new multiplier pays at 1x.
How much does the bonus buy cost?
The buy costs 100x your total bet and guarantees four scatters on the triggering spin. It is not available while Ante Bet is on, and some jurisdictions do not allow it at all.
What does the Ante Bet do?
Ante Bet raises the cost of a spin by 25%, from 20 to 25 coins, and doubles your chance of triggering free spins naturally. At a 1.00 base bet you pay 1.25 per spin while it is on.
