Our verdict

This edition changes the look, not the maths, so anyone who knows the classic can start spinning straight away. The 96.48% listed return and the medium volatility tag make it a slightly friendlier pick than its label-free cousins, but the big payouts still live inside free spins, so budget for patience.

What we like
  • Paytable, scatter prizes and 21,100x cap identical to the classic
  • Provider lists 96.48% RTP with a medium volatility tag
  • Bombs of 2x up to 100x are summed during free spins
  • Double chance mode costs just 25% extra per spin
Keep in mind
  • Purely a cosmetic refresh with no fresh feature
  • Base game has no bombs, only tumbles
  • You cannot buy the bonus while double chance is switched on

A frosted copy of a candy favourite

Pragmatic Play put this festive version out in November 2019, only months after the original candy game. The fruit and sweets now wear a layer of snow and the backdrop has turned wintry, yet the engine underneath is unchanged. Thirty symbols drop onto six reels and five rows, the spin is priced on a 20-coin basis, and any symbol that shows up eight times or more anywhere pays.

One small difference sits in the rules screen: Pragmatic tags this edition as medium volatility, describing it as a game that pays steadily across a range from low to very high. The provider page lists the return at 96.48%.

On the legal side, India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 took effect on 1 May 2026 and bans the offering, advertising and payment processing of online money games throughout the country. Petitions against it are still pending in the Supreme Court, and your state may have its own rules as well. Real-money play is only ever for adults of 18 and above. The demo on this page uses virtual credits, so nothing you do here touches your UPI balance.

One spin, start to finish

  1. Set your stake. The demo server offers a base bet from 0.20 to 240 units; the rupee limits you see elsewhere depend on the operator.
  2. Thirty symbols land on the 6x5 grid.
  3. The game counts every symbol type over the whole screen. Positions and neighbours do not matter, which is the scatter pays system.
  4. Each type with eight or more copies wins. Two or three types can pay on the same spin.
  5. Paying symbols vanish, survivors slide down and fresh ones fall in from above. This tumble repeats as long as new wins appear.
  6. Once the screen is quiet, the whole sequence is credited in one go.

On a phone, that means one tap can turn into several refills, and the counter at the bottom keeps adding until the chain stops.

The paytable at a ₹100 spin

The text rules do not name the frozen artwork, so the nine paying symbols are ranked here from top to bottom. Each cell shows the multiple of your total bet and what it means on a ₹100 stake.

Rank8 or 9 copies10 or 11 copies12 or more
Top symbol10x (₹1,000)25x (₹2,500)50x (₹5,000)
High 22.5x (₹250)10x (₹1,000)25x (₹2,500)
High 32x (₹200)5x (₹500)15x (₹1,500)
High 41.5x (₹150)2x (₹200)12x (₹1,200)
Low 11x (₹100)1.5x (₹150)10x (₹1,000)
Low 20.8x (₹80)1.2x (₹120)8x (₹800)
Low 30.5x (₹50)1x (₹100)5x (₹500)
Low 40.4x (₹40)0.9x (₹90)4x (₹400)
Low 50.25x (₹25)0.75x (₹75)2x (₹200)

Look at the jump into the last column. Eleven Low 2 symbols return ₹120, but a twelfth lifts the prize to ₹800. Small groups of cheap symbols, on the other hand, often hand back less than you paid: eight of the lowest give you ₹25 from a ₹100 spin.

Scatters and the 10 free spins

The scatter pays from any position and opens the bonus:

  • 4 scatters: 3x (₹300 at ₹100) plus 10 free spins.
  • 5 scatters: 5x (₹500) plus 10 free spins.
  • 6 scatters: 100x (₹10,000) plus 10 free spins.

Inside the round, three or more scatters add another 5 free spins, and that can happen more than once. The bonus also runs on its own special reels.

Bomb maths with a ₹50 stake

Bombs only appear during free spins. Each carries one of 13 values: every step from 2x to 6x, then 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x and finally 100x. A bomb pays nothing alone. It waits on the grid until the tumble chain ends, and then all bomb values on screen are added and applied to the chain's total win. Our multipliers guide covers how summed boosts compare with multiplied ones.

Say you spin at ₹50. A free spin lands nine High 3 symbols for 2x, which is ₹100. They tumble away and the refill brings twelve Low 4 symbols for 4x, another ₹200. The chain is worth ₹300. During those drops, bombs of 5x, 8x and 2x settled on the grid. Added up they make 15x, so the spin pays ₹300 × 15 = ₹4,500.

Flip it around: the same three bombs on a spin with no group of eight pay ₹0. That is the core rhythm of the bonus. You need a decent base win and a strong bomb total on the same spin.

Double chance and the 100x buy in rupees

The game runs on two bet multipliers. The 20x setting keeps the buy available, while switching to 25x activates double chance and removes the buy button.

ModeCost at ₹100 baseWhat it does
Normal spin₹100Standard trigger rate, buy allowed
Double chance₹125Extra scatters on the reels, trigger chance doubled, no buy
Bonus buy₹10,00010 free spins instantly

Double chance behaves like an ante bet: a constant 25% surcharge for twice the trigger rate. The 100x bonus buy is one large bet in disguise, and a bought round can easily finish well under its price.

What changed versus Sweet Bonanza

Very little beyond the paint. We matched the server paytable of this edition against Sweet Bonanza symbol by symbol and every value lines up. The scatter prizes of 3x, 5x and 100x, the 2x to 100x bomb range, the 100x buy and the 21,100x ceiling are all the same. What you notice is the winter theme, the 96.48% figure on the provider page and the medium volatility wording in the rules. If you want bigger bombs, Sweet Bonanza 1000 raises them to 1000x.

RTP and the 21,100x ceiling

Pragmatic lists 96.48%, though an operator is free to install a different certified build, so open the rules to see the exact figure for your version, including separate lines for double chance and the buy. In theory, ₹1,00,000 wagered at 96.48% returns about ₹96,480 over a very long run; a few hundred spins can land anywhere. See our RTP guide for why the decimals matter.

The cap is 21,100x the stake, so ₹10,55,000 on a ₹50 spin or ₹21,10,000 on a ₹100 spin. Reach it and the round ends on the spot, with any remaining free spins forfeited.

Practising in the demo

Spin 100 base rounds at a single stake and note how many return at least what you bet. Then switch on double chance for another 100 and compare how often the bonus arrives. In each free spins round, jot down the bomb totals and how many bombs landed on spins with no win. Our demo guide has more checks.

For bankroll, a simple rule: if one 100x purchase would swallow more than a fifth of what you set aside, your stake is too high for buying. Double chance adds a quarter to each spin, which means your budget covers fewer rounds. Keep sessions short, decide your stop point before you start and stick to it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sweet Bonanza Xmas just a reskin of the original?

Yes, mechanically. The paytable, the 3x, 5x and 100x scatter prizes, the 2x to 100x bombs, the 100x buy and the 21,100x cap all match the original. The changes are the winter artwork, a medium volatility label and a 96.48% listed RTP.

How do I win in Sweet Bonanza Xmas?

Get eight or more copies of one symbol anywhere on the 6x5 grid. They need not touch. Winners disappear, new symbols fall in and the tumble keeps paying for as long as fresh groups of eight or more form.

How many scatters start the bonus?

Four or more. A four-scatter landing pays 3x, a five-scatter landing 5x, a six-scatter landing 100x, and all of them award 10 free spins. During the round, three or more scatters add 5 extra spins.

What do the bombs pay at a ₹100 stake?

Nothing on their own. Bombs land only in free spins, carry 2x to 100x, and their values are added once the tumble ends. If the chain won ₹200 and bombs total 20x, you receive ₹4,000.

How much is the bonus buy in rupees?

It costs 100x your total bet, so ₹5,000 at ₹50 or ₹10,000 at ₹100, for 10 free spins. The option is hidden while double chance is active.

What is the top win possible?

21,100 times the stake, which is ₹21,10,000 on a ₹100 spin. The round stops the moment the cap is hit and unplayed free spins are lost.

Is real-money play on this slot allowed in India?

India's online gaming law of 2025 has been in force since 1 May 2026 and prohibits offering online money games nationwide; challenges are pending in the Supreme Court and state rules also apply. The demo here uses virtual credits, and real-money play anywhere is 18+ only.
