What changed versus Sugar Rush

How a spin works

Sweets fill a 7x7 grid. Five or more identical symbols touching horizontally or vertically make a winning cluster; diagonal contact does not count. Our clusters guide explains how this differs from paylines.

1. Every cluster of 5+ pays as a multiple of your total bet.
2. Each cell in a winning cluster is marked.
3. Winning symbols vanish and new ones tumble in from above.
4. A fresh win on a marked cell creates a x2 multiplier, and every later win there doubles it, up to x128.
5. When no new cluster forms, the spin ends and base game marks reset.

Payouts for every cluster size are listed in the in-game paytable, and the scatter pays nothing on its own: it only triggers the bonus.

Spot multipliers in practice

The ladder runs x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, x64, x128. If one cluster covers several multiplier cells, their values are added and the sum applies to that win. Our multipliers guide covers the different multiplier types across slots.

Worked base game example at a 1.00 stake. A first cluster pays and marks its cells. On the next tumble, a new cluster worth 1.50 lands across two of those marked cells. Both become x2, the sum is x4 and the win is 6.00. When the chain ends, the marks are gone and the next spin starts clean.

That reset keeps the base game fairly quiet. Multipliers only build during a single tumble chain, and a cell needs several wins in the same spot to climb high.

Free spins with a worked example

Three or more scatters start the free spins round, with up to 30 spins awarded and retriggers possible when scatters land during the round. The difference that matters: every mark and multiplier stays for the whole round. A cell at x16 in spin four is still x16 in spin eleven, waiting to double again.

Worked example at a 0.40 stake. Midway through the round, a block of the grid holds cells at x32, x16 and x8. A cluster whose base pay is 5x the bet, so 2.00, lands across all three. The multipliers add to x56 and the win becomes 2.00 x 56 = 112.00, which is 280 times the stake. With x128 as the ceiling per cell, even a cluster covering four maxed cells gets x512, which is why the 5,000x cap is reachable only in exceptional rounds.

Bonus buy, RTP and volatility

Where the operator allows it, the bonus buy opens free spins for 100x your bet: 20.00 at a 0.20 stake, 100.00 at 1.00. It skips the wait for scatters but does not improve the round itself, and a single buy can return well under its price.

Budgeting the bonus buy

Because the buy price is fixed at 100x, it is easy to turn into session numbers. Say your budget is 100.00. At a 1.00 stake one buy uses the whole amount, and a weak round ends the session. At a 0.20 stake each buy costs 20.00, so the same budget covers five rounds and gives the sticky multipliers five chances to line up. Lower stakes do not change the odds of any round, but they spread your budget over more attempts and make a single disappointing bonus far less costly.

Choosing between the four editions

The Sugar Rush family now covers a wide range. The original and Xmas share the same numbers and differ only in theme. Sugar Rush 1000 keeps the same base game but lets multipliers climb to x1024 for a 25,000x cap. Sugar Rush Super Scatter adds a large scatter symbol and a 50,000x ceiling for rounds it opens. Moving up the list, the potential top result grows and so does the spread of outcomes. Xmas sits at the calm end of that range, which makes it a sensible pick for smaller budgets or for learning how spot multipliers behave before trying the bigger editions.
