What is new in Gates of Olympus 2500
Gates of Olympus 2500 is the newest entry in the series, with its release scheduled for 28 September 2026 and a playable demo already available. The base is the familiar one from the original Gates of Olympus: a 6x5 grid, wins for 8 or more matching symbols anywhere, tumbles and additive orbs. Everything around that core has been rebuilt.
| Feature | Original | 1000 | 2500 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orb range | x2 to x500 | x2 to x1000 | x2 to x2500 |
| Max win | 5,000x | 15,000x | 25,000x |
| RTP | 96.50% | 96.50% | up to 96.52% |
| Free spin modes | 1 | 1 | 4, chosen by a wheel |
| Ante Bet options | 1 | 1 | 3 |
| Buy options | 1 | 1 | 4, plus 2 Super Spins |
If you came from Gates of Olympus 1000, the orb range and the cap are the obvious upgrades. The bigger change is structural: you now choose how much to pay per spin and, to a degree, which kind of bonus you play.
How a spin works
- Thirty symbols fill the grid.
- Any symbol with 8 or more copies anywhere forms a win.
- Winners vanish, the grid tumbles and new wins are checked until none remain.
- Orbs from x2 to x2500 that land during the sequence are added together.
- If the sequence produced a win, the sum of the orbs multiplies it. Our multipliers guide explains why x10 plus x5 gives x15, not x50.
Bets run from 0.20 to 240 per spin, and volatility is high, so the long quiet stretches of the earlier editions are still part of the deal.
Triggering free spins and the mode wheel
Four or more scatters pay 3x, 5x or 100x (for 4, 5 or 6) and award 15 free spins. Three scatters during the bonus add 5 more. After the trigger, a wheel decides which of four modes you play:
| Mode | How orbs are handled |
|---|---|
| Free Spins 1 | Classic rule: an orb joins the total multiplier only on a winning spin |
| Super Free Spins 1 | Same as Free Spins 1, but every orb is at least x10 |
| Free Spins 2 | Every orb joins the total even without a win, and the total applies to all wins |
| Super Free Spins 2 | Free Spins 2 with every orb at least x10 |
Free Spins 1 versus Free Spins 2, a worked example
Take a 1.00 stake and the same three spins in both modes:
- Spin 1: no winning cluster, but a x10 orb lands.
- Spin 2: a sequence wins 2.00 with a x5 orb.
- Spin 3: a sequence wins 1.50 with no orb.
In Free Spins 1, the x10 from spin 1 is lost because nothing won. Spin 2 sets the total to x5 and pays 10.00. Spin 3 pays 1.50 x 5 = 7.50. Total: 17.50.
In Free Spins 2, the x10 is banked. Spin 2 raises the total to x15 and pays 30.00. Spin 3 pays 1.50 x 15 = 22.50. Total: 52.50, three times more from identical symbols. In the Super versions every orb would be at least x10, so the same round would build the total even faster.
Three Ante Bets and what they cost
The Ante Bet now comes in three levels. Costs below are per spin at a 1.00 base stake.
| Option | Cost multiplier | Cost at 1.00 | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ante Bet 1 | x1.25 | 1.25 | 2x chance of free spins |
| Ante Bet 2 | x2.75 | 2.75 | 8x chance of free spins |
| Ante Bet 3 | x5.5 | 5.50 | 8x chance, and the wheel picks only Super FS 1, FS 2 or Super FS 2 |
Ante Bet 3 is essentially a way to remove the plain Free Spins 1 mode from the wheel. Whether that is worth paying twice the cost of Ante Bet 2 for the same trigger chance depends on how much you value the stronger modes.
Put in budget terms: 200 spins at a 1.00 base stake cost 200.00 with no ante, 250.00 with Ante Bet 1, 550.00 with Ante Bet 2 and 1,100.00 with Ante Bet 3. The higher levels buy more frequent bonuses at a much higher cost per spin, so scale your base stake down when you move up a level.
Super Spins
Super Spins are premium spins played in the base game:
- Super Spin 1 costs 20x per spin and guarantees at least one orb on every spin.
- Super Spin 2 costs 250x per spin and guarantees at least one orb of x25 or more on every spin.
Free spins cannot trigger during Super Spins, so you are paying purely for orbs in the base game. At a 1.00 stake, ten Super Spin 2 rounds cost 2,500.00. Remember that an orb still needs a winning sequence to pay.
The four bonus buys
With the bonus buy you skip the wheel and pick the mode directly:
| Buy | Price | At a 1.00 stake |
|---|---|---|
| Free Spins 1 | 100x | 100.00 |
| Free Spins 2 | 250x | 250.00 |
| Super Free Spins 1 | 500x | 500.00 |
| Super Free Spins 2 | 1,250x | 1,250.00 |
The price gaps mirror the example above: keeping every orb or raising the orb floor to x10 makes a round far stronger on average, and the price rises accordingly.
Demo testing and rules checklist
- Check the RTP. The default is up to 96.52%, but operator versions may be lower. The rules screen shows the value in use.
- Confirm bet limits. The range is 0.20 to 240, though an operator can set narrower limits.
- Try every mode in the demo. Compare Free Spins 1 and 2 to see the banked orb effect for yourself.
- Price the extras. Ante Bet 3 at 5.5x and Super Spin 2 at 250x per spin can use up a budget in minutes; lower the base stake if you use them.
