What makes the Super Scatter edition different
Pragmatic Play released Gates of Olympus Super Scatter on 28 April 2025. The core is the original Gates of Olympus: a 6x5 grid, scatter pays for 8 or more matching symbols, tumbles and additive multiplier orbs from x2 to x500. The new layer is the super scatter, a special scatter that can pay an instant prize the moment free spins are triggered.
| Feature | Original | Super Scatter |
|---|---|---|
| Orb range | x2 to x500 | x2 to x500 |
| Max win | 5,000x | 50,000x |
| RTP | 96.50% | 96.50% |
| Ante Bet | +25%, 2x chance | +50%, 2x chance |
| Buy options | Free spins 100x | Free spins 100x, super free spins 500x |
| Instant scatter prize | No | Up to 50,000x |
So the orb ceiling does not move at all. The jump from 5,000x to 50,000x comes almost entirely from the super scatter prize, which is a different kind of upside: it is decided at the trigger, not built up over a round.
That shift matters for how the game feels. In the original, a big result needs a long chain of orbs landing on winning sequences. Here a single trigger screen with several super scatters can deliver a result larger than any orb chain could, while an ordinary trigger plays out exactly like the classic bonus. Expect most rounds to look familiar and a rare few to look nothing like the original.
How a base game spin works
- The 6x5 grid fills with thirty symbols.
- Eight or more identical symbols anywhere on the grid form a win.
- Winners are removed and the grid tumbles: symbols fall, new ones drop in, and the process repeats while wins keep forming.
- Orbs that land during the sequence stay until it ends. Their values are added and the sum multiplies the sequence win, provided the sequence paid something.
- Scatters and super scatters are counted. As in the original, four or more scatter symbols trigger free spins, and any super scatters among them pay their instant prize. The rules screen confirms the exact trigger count.
The additive orb logic is covered in our multipliers guide. In short, orbs of x10 and x5 give x15, never x50.
Super scatters and the instant prize
Super scatters appear in the base game only. When free spins are triggered, the number of super scatters on the screen decides an instant payout. Our super scatter guide compares how this works across different slots.
| Super scatters at trigger | Instant prize | At a 1.00 stake |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 100x | 100.00 |
| 2 | 500x | 500.00 |
| 3 | 5,000x | 5,000.00 |
| 4 | 50,000x | 50,000.00 |
Worked example: at a 1.00 stake you land a trigger that includes 2 super scatters. The game pays 500.00 on the spot, before the free spins even begin. Whatever the bonus then adds comes on top. That is why the trigger screen matters more here than in any other edition: the outcome of a round can be largely set before it starts.
Free spins and the total multiplier
The free spins round follows the original structure. Orbs that land on winning sequences are added to a running total that lasts for the rest of the round and multiplies every later winning sequence.
An example at a 1.00 stake: on spin 4 a sequence wins 2.00 with orbs of x8 and x4, so the total becomes x12 and the sequence pays 24.00. On spin 10 a sequence wins 3.50 with a x6 orb, the total rises to x18 and the sequence pays 63.00. Any plain win after that still gets the x18. If the round was triggered with one super scatter, add the 100.00 instant prize to the 87.00 collected so far.
The exact number of free spins awarded is listed in the game rules; check it there before relying on figures from other editions.
Super free spins and the buy options
The Super Scatter edition offers two bonus buys:
- Free spins, 100x. The standard round. At a 1.00 stake it costs 100.00.
- Super free spins, 500x. Every orb that lands is at least x10. At a 1.00 stake it costs 500.00.
The x10 floor changes the pace of the round. In regular free spins, a winning sequence with three small orbs of x2, x3 and x2 adds only x7 to the total. In super free spins, the same three orbs would add at least x30. After a handful of winning sequences, that floor can push the total well beyond what a regular round usually reaches. The price is five regular buys, so it makes sense only if your budget can absorb a 500x outlay without it being most of your session.
Ante Bet at plus 50 percent
The Ante Bet here adds 50% to your stake and doubles the chance of triggering free spins. A 1.00 bet becomes 1.50 per spin. In the original it cost only +25% for the same doubled chance, so this is the more expensive version of the option. Over 200 spins the difference is 300.00 against 200.00. More frequent triggers also mean more chances for super scatters to appear at a trigger, which is the main reason to consider it.
Practical checklist for the demo
- Read the rules screen. Confirm the RTP of 96.50%, the bet limits, the number of free spins and which buy options your operator offers.
- Watch the trigger screens. In a free demo, note how often super scatters appear when the bonus triggers, even as singles.
- Compare both buys. Try the 100x and 500x rounds in the demo to see how the x10 orb floor changes the total multiplier.
- Mind the ante cost. At +50%, the Ante Bet burns budget fast, so lower your base stake if you use it.
- Set limits first. Decide your session budget and stop point before the first spin.

Frequently asked questions
What is a super scatter in Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?
It is a special scatter that lands only in the base game. When free spins trigger, the number of super scatters on screen pays an instant prize: 100x for one, 500x for two, 5,000x for three and 50,000x for four.
What is the max win in Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?
The maximum win is 50,000x your bet, the highest in the Gates of Olympus series. It matches the instant prize for four super scatters at the bonus trigger.
What is the RTP of Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?
The RTP is 96.50%. Always confirm the value in the game rules at your operator, as the rules screen shows the build that is actually running.
How much do the bonus buys cost?
Regular free spins cost 100x your bet. Super free spins cost 500x and guarantee that every orb landing during the round is worth at least x10.
How does the Ante Bet work in this edition?
It raises your stake by 50% and doubles the chance of triggering free spins. That is twice the +25% cost of the Ante Bet in the original Gates of Olympus.
Are the multipliers higher than in the original?
No. Orbs still range from x2 to x500 and are added together. The higher max win comes from the super scatter prize, and the super free spins buy raises the minimum orb to x10.
