What Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000 is
Pragmatic Play launched Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000 in December 2024 as a holiday entry in its Greek Gods series. How a spin works, step by step
- Set the stake. In the demo build it runs from 0.20 to 240; your operator's limits are in the rules.
- Symbols fill 30 positions. There are no lines. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid pay, which is how scatter pays work.
- Winning symbols vanish and new ones drop in. This tumble repeats until no new win forms.
- Multiplier orbs can land on any reel with values from 2x to 1,000x. At the end of the tumble sequence their values are added together and applied to the total win of that sequence.

Base game multipliers in practice
Orbs only matter when the sequence they land in also produces a win. At a 1.00 stake, suppose a tumble sequence pays 3.00 in symbol wins and three orbs of 5x, 10x and 2x appear. The orbs add up to 17x, so the sequence pays 51.00. The same three orbs on a spin with no win pay nothing. That is why the game feels quiet for stretches and then jumps: the multipliers need a win to attach to.
Free spins and the total multiplier
Four or more scatters award 15 free spins, played on special reels. Here the orbs do not reset. Each orb that lands in a winning sequence adds its value to a running total multiplier, and that total is applied to wins in which a new orb appears. Three or more scatters during the round add five more spins.
A worked example at a 1.00 stake:
- Spin 2: a sequence wins 2.00 and a 10x orb lands. The total becomes 10x, so the win pays 20.00.
- Spin 6: a win of 1.50 arrives with a 5x orb. The total is now 15x, and the win pays 22.50.
- Spin 11: a win of 4.00 comes with a 25x orb. The total climbs to 40x, and the win pays 160.00.
Those three spins return 202.50. A win without a fresh orb is paid at face value, so the total works best when orbs keep arriving alongside wins late in the round.
Bonus buy and ante bet
Where it is allowed, the bonus buy starts free spins for 100x the stake, so 100.00 at a 1.00 stake. The game lists that mode at 96.49% RTP, a hair below the 96.50% of normal play. The demo build also includes an ante bet that raises the stake to 1.25 times the base bet at 96.50% RTP; the rules screen explains what it changes. With ante on, the cap is listed as 12,000x of the raised stake, which is the same money ceiling as 15,000x of the base bet.
What changed versus Gates of Olympus
Compared with the original Gates of Olympus, this edition keeps the 6x5 grid, the eight-symbol minimum, tumbles, 15 free spins and the 96.50% RTP. The differences:
