Why Ghanaian players keep coming back to this candy board
This 2019 Pragmatic Play release set the pattern for a long line of later candy and fruit games. What makes it easy to pick up is the counting rule: you look at the full board of 30 cells, count how many times each sweet or fruit shows up, and anything reaching eight copies pays. Neighbours, rows and reels are irrelevant.
There is no wild anywhere in the game. Value comes from two places only. The first is the tumble feature, which lets one paid spin keep producing fresh wins. The second is the bomb, a multiplier symbol that shows up only once free spins start. Get comfortable with those two and nothing on the screen will surprise you.
Walking through one paid spin
- Choose your stake in cedis. Pragmatic lists the standard bet range as 0.20 to 100 per spin, and your casino shows the exact cedi limits in the game rules.
- The board fills all six reels, five symbols high.
- The game tallies every symbol type. Each type with eight or more copies pays, and two or three types can pay together.
- Paid symbols burst and vanish. What sits above them slides down, and new symbols fall into the gaps.
- The board is recounted. A new group of eight or more pays again and triggers another tumble.
- Once a recount finds nothing, the sequence closes and the combined amount lands in your balance.
Because the eight copies never need to touch, this belongs to the scatter-pay group rather than cluster pays. Our guide to paylines, ways and clusters sets the two systems side by side if you want the difference spelt out.
The paytable with cedi values
Nine regular symbols share the board: five fruits at the bottom of the scale, four candies above them, and the red heart as the top payer. Payouts come in three bands depending on how many copies you collect. The last column shows what the smallest band returns on a GH₵5 spin.

| Symbol | 8 or 9 copies | 10 or 11 copies | 12 and up | Smallest band at GH₵5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Red heart | 10x | 25x | 50x | GH₵50.00 |
| Purple candy | 2.5x | 10x | 25x | GH₵12.50 |
| Green candy | 2x | 5x | 15x | GH₵10.00 |
| Blue candy | 1.5x | 2x | 12x | GH₵7.50 |
| Apple | 1x | 1.5x | 10x | GH₵5.00 |
| Plum | 0.8x | 1.2x | 8x | GH₵4.00 |
| Watermelon | 0.5x | 1x | 5x | GH₵2.50 |
| Grapes | 0.4x | 0.9x | 4x | GH₵2.00 |
| Banana | 0.25x | 0.75x | 2x | GH₵1.25 |
Read the table from right to left and a pattern appears. The top band is where each fruit becomes interesting: twelve apples on a GH₵5 spin pay GH₵50.00, while ten or eleven pay only GH₵7.50. Long tumbles that keep feeding one fruit are what reach that band. At the other end, eight bananas on the same GH₵5 spin return GH₵1.25, a quarter of the stake. Plenty of base wins return less than you staked, so do not read a flashing win banner as profit.
Lollipops and the free spins trigger
Lollipops act as the scatter, and they skip the eight-copy rule and pays by its own count:
- Four lollipops pay 3x and start 10 free spins. On a GH₵5 spin that is GH₵15.
- Five lollipops pay 5x plus the same 10 spins, so GH₵25 at GH₵5.
- Six lollipops pay 100x plus 10 spins, a cool GH₵500 at GH₵5 before the round even begins.
Inside the round, any three or more lollipops hand you 5 extra free spins, and that retrigger can happen more than once.
Bombs and the cedi maths of a bonus
The free spins look identical to base play until a bomb drops. Each bomb shows a multiplier between 2x and 100x. It pays nothing by itself and it survives every tumble, waiting on the board until the sequence is done. Then the game sums every bomb value from that sequence and multiplies the sequence win by the total. Summing matters: a 10x bomb next to a 25x bomb gives 35x, never 250x. And a bomb that falls during a sequence with no win simply disappears with nothing to show.
Worked example at GH₵2
Your free spin opens with eight bananas, worth 0.25x, so GH₵0.50. They burst, the refill brings ten grapes at 0.9x for GH₵1.80, and then the board goes quiet. Base total for the sequence: GH₵0.50 + GH₵1.80 = GH₵2.30.
Along the way a 10x bomb and a 25x bomb landed. Their sum is 35x, so the sequence pays GH₵2.30 × 35 = GH₵80.50. Had those same two bombs landed on a spin with no group of eight, the payout would be zero.
Now a bigger picture at GH₵5. Twelve red hearts pay 50x, which is GH₵250. Add a single 5x bomb and the sequence becomes GH₵1,250. Add a 2x as well and the total multiplier is 7x, for GH₵1,750. Big bonuses need both halves at once: a solid base win and a bomb total worth having.
Double chance against the 100x buy
You get two optional modes, and the game lets you run only one of them.
Double chance adds 25% to every spin. A GH₵2 bet becomes GH₵2.50, and a GH₵10 bet becomes GH₵12.50. In exchange, lollipops land more often and your chance of starting free spins doubles. It behaves like the ante bet found in other Pragmatic games.
Bonus buy charges 100x your stake for an instant entry to the round. At GH₵1 that is GH₵100; at GH₵2 it is GH₵200. Our bonus buy guide looks at why this is a high-variance purchase. The buy button greys out while double chance is on.
| Mode | Cost at GH₵2 | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Normal spin | GH₵2.00 | Standard trigger chance |
| Double chance | GH₵2.50 | Free spins twice as likely, buy unavailable |
| Bonus buy | GH₵200.00 | 10 free spins straight away |
A purchased round can easily come back at a fraction of its price. Think of every buy as one big wager with a very wide spread of results, not as a ticket to a guaranteed payout.
RTP, the 21,100x cap and what the rules panel tells you
Your top possible result is 21,100x the stake, so GH₵21,100 on a GH₵1 spin. The return to player is set per operator: Pragmatic supplies several builds, and the figure for the one you are playing is printed in the game rules. Check it whenever you try a new site, because two casinos can offer the same title with different returns. The RTP guide explains why a small gap adds up over many spins.
While the panel is open, confirm three things: the RTP line, the minimum and maximum stake in cedis, and whether the buy option exists at all for your account. Licensed operators in Ghana answer to the Gaming Commission of Ghana under the Gaming Act 2006 (Act 721), play is for adults aged 18 and over, and you can expect to verify your account with your Ghana Card.
The other Sweet Bonanza editions
Every later release keeps the 6x5 board and tumbles but changes what sits on top.
- Sweet Bonanza Xmas is the winter dress of this very game: same paytable, same 21,100x cap, with a medium volatility label in its rules.
- Sweet Bonanza 1000 raises bombs as high as 1000x, sells a 500x Super Free Spins buy and caps wins at 25,000x.
- Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter keeps bombs at 2x to 100x but adds a base-game super scatter worth 100x to 50,000x on a trigger.
- Sweet Bonanza 2500 stretches bombs all the way to 2500x and gives you a menu with two ante levels and a pair of Super Spin modes.
- Sweet Rush Bonanza borrows the doubling spot multipliers of Sugar Rush, from x2 up to x128.
A demo plan before you spend cedis
Run the free demo first; it costs nothing but a bit of your data bundle. Pick one stake and keep it fixed. Write down how many of your first 100 spins pay back at least the stake, and how many spins pass before the lollipops open the bonus. Record the bomb total in each round, including the ones wasted on spins with no win. After that, run 100 more with double chance active and see whether the bonus visits more often. Finish with three or four demo buys to see how far results stray from the 100x price.
A few hundred spins show you the rhythm, not the long-run return, so treat the notes as a feel for the game rather than a forecast.

Keeping your MoMo budget in shape
The bulk of the money in this game is paid during the bonus, and the bonus turns up when it pleases. Size your stake so your session can survive several dry stretches and still see more than one round of free spins. If a single buy would eat more than a fifth of what you loaded from your MoMo wallet, step the stake down or skip buying. Pick your stop point before spinning and respect it, whatever the last round looked like.
Where to play Sweet Bonanza with cedis
Questions from players in Ghana
What counts as a winning spin here?
Any symbol that appears eight or more times anywhere on the 6x5 board pays. Lines and neighbours play no part. Paid symbols vanish, new ones fall in, and the tumble carries on for as long as fresh groups of eight keep forming.
How many lollipops start the free spins?
Four or more lollipop scatters give 10 free spins. Each trigger also carries a prize (four lollipops 3x, five lollipops 5x, six lollipops 100x), so six lollipops on a GH₵5 spin return GH₵500 on top of the round. Inside the round, a fresh set of three or more adds 5 spins.
How are the bombs calculated?
Bombs land only in free spins and carry 2x to 100x. They stay until the tumble sequence finishes, then their values are summed and the total multiplies that sequence win. A 10x and a 25x make 35x. No win in the sequence means the bombs pay nothing.
What is the biggest possible win?
The cap is 21,100x the stake, which works out to GH₵21,100 on a GH₵1 spin. Sweet Bonanza 1000 and 2500 go to 25,000x, and Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter reaches 50,000x.
What RTP does Sweet Bonanza have?
The figure depends on the build your casino has chosen, since Pragmatic supplies more than one. The game rules panel shows the exact theoretical return for the version in front of you, so check it on every new site.
How much is the bonus buy in cedis?
The buy costs 100x the stake: GH₵100 at GH₵1 or GH₵200 at GH₵2. You cannot use it with double chance running, and in certain markets the option is removed altogether.
Is double chance worth switching on?
It raises each spin by 25%, so GH₵2 becomes GH₵2.50, while making the bonus trigger twice as likely. It suits players who prefer more frequent bonus attempts to buying, but it locks the buy button while active.
